Hot Air Balloon

Today’s photo is from our trip to Sedona.  While we were there, we went on an amazing hot air balloon ride over the area.  It was a super fun way to spend the morning.  I took this photo of the inside of the balloon as the pilot was filling it up with air.  The balloon was still lying on its side about ¾ full, but not yet standing erect.

ATM Art

I’ve got a great relationship with Washington Financial bank.  They’ve been a good client and have used my photos for years.  I captured this photo (with my iPhone) after using the ATM machine last weekend.  It’s always great seeing my photos put to good use and I love what they did with this photo that I took a few years ago.

Ariana Grande

I covered the Steelers vs. Bengals game today.  Wow!!  It was wet, wet, wet.  In my five years of photographing the Steelers games, I’ve never had a game where it rained that hard or that often.  I was soaked even with my rain gear.

Before every game, there is usually a celebrity of some sort on the sideline before the game.  Some times I recognize them, some times I don’t.  Today it was Ariana Grande and her boyfriend Mac Miller.  It was a little weird because she’s a celebrity, who volunteers to be on the sideline of an Steelers game to start the Terrible Towel twirl and she’s in an environment with more cameras than you can probably count, but she didn’t want anyone to take her picture.  Just weird, every celebrity I’ve seen do this signs autographs, takes pictures with the fans, etc…  They soak it all in and are a good sport.  Ariana…wasn’t happy about it and yet she seemed to pose for me.

Point Of View Statue

I was out two nights ago on a photo walk with Dave Truxell and Blair Ward.  We spent some time at the top of Mount Washington looking down at the city of Pittsburgh.  This status is of George Washington looking directly into the eyes of a Native American.  I honestly don’t know the history of this statue.  But I can appreciate it and its location.

Vista Casino Bar

Today’s blog post is of the Casino Bar within the Carnival Vista cruise ship.  I took this photo while we were sailing around Greece.  As you can probably guess, I took this photo at around 530am to avoid any other passengers getting in the way of the photo.  Cool architecture inside a large ship…at least that’s my opinion.

Vista in Montenegro

We couldn’t dock while we were in Kotor Montenegro.  So they had to use tendor boats to get back and forth from shore.  One of the tendors took us around front of the ship, allowing me to capture this great shot of the Carnival Vista with the mountains in the background.

My First Photography Exhibit

Big News!!!

Washington County Chamber of Commerce is going to feature my photography in an upcoming fundraiser for the Washington Health System.  The event (called “Beer, Brats and Brook”) will be held at Noble Energy in Southpointe just south of Pittsburgh.  Noble Energy recently moved into their brand new world headquarters, so it will be cool to combine this event with their new beautiful location.

The event will feature 20 photos from my collections, which will all either be framed or printed on metal.  The photos just arrived at my place yesterday and they look great.  I can’t wait to see them displayed in Noble Energy’s large lobby.  Since the event is being held in October, it will be catered with local beers, brats and hors d’oeuvres.  If you’re interested in having a beer, socializing, wandering around some great art, and helping to raise money for the Washington Health System, click the link below to register for the event.

I look forward to seeing you there!!

Seattle's Space Needle

Can you think of a more iconic item for Seattle?  I can’t.  So tonight’s post is of the Space Needle.  I took this in late 2014 while on a work trip to Seattle.  It was a great trip both professionally and personally.  By the way, can you tell that I’ve been processing photos from this Seattle trip?  It probably wasn’t to hard to figure out since I’ve posted a few photos recently the Emerald City.

Morpheus Article

I’m not a huge Colon Kaepernick fan.  It has nothing to do with his current national media attention over not standing for the National Anthem.  I don’t care if he stands or not.  That’s his right to choose.  I’d always stand, but to each his/her own.  Forgetting that drama for a second, I am happy that Morpheus.com used my photo of Colon for their article.  You can see the article here: https://www.thisismorpheus.com/2016/09/colin-kaepernick/

TJ Jones Making The Catch

Here is another football photo for you.  I captured this a few weeks ago, when Detroit played Pittsburgh at Heinz Field.  TJ Jones is in his 2nd year in the NFL.  The Lions drafted him as the 189th pick within the 6th round.  Hopefully this former Notre Dame player will bring some magic to the Lions.

Ansah

I think I’m going to start a streak of football photos for a little while here on the blog.  So tonight I’m going to provide you with a photo of the Detroit Lions defensive star… Ezekiel Ansah.  This will be his 4th year in the NFL after playing at BYU in college.  If he played for any other team, he’d be a household name.  But when you play in Detroit, unless you’re Barry Sanders or Calvin Johnson, you’ll be invisible to anyone outside of Detroit.  I took this photo a few weeks ago when Detroit played Pittsburgh in Heinz Field.

Pike Place Market

So I’m keeping with the Seattle theme and posting another photo from that wonderful area.  I spent a little time around the famous market and enjoyed myself.  But I struggled to find anything that I wanted to photograph.  Weird how that works!  Some times I just don’t see “it”.  My own person version of writer’s block.  Anyway, that’s what happened to me at this spot.    So I ended up capturing this photo of the market’s sign (not the most creative photo).  As you can tell, it was Christmas time when I was there.

Seattle At Night

I took this photo a few years ago, but just processed it tonight.  Sometimes it takes me a long time to get my photos processed.  When it takes between 20 minutes to an hour to process one photo, you can see why it takes me a while.

Anyway, I scouted this location in advance and it didn’t let me down.  I left the airport, got my rental car and drove right to this spot.  It was worth it.

Basilica of National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

I took a bunch of photos inside this wonderful facility in Washington DC.  Unfortunately, I tried to get permission to use a tripod, but I never heard back from the church.  So all my photos on the inside were okay, but not great.  I also took photos around the outside of the building.  These are my favorite from this photo walk.  Isn’t this building super cool.  I love the blue dome in the middle of the building.

Kotor

Today’s post is a photo I took in the mountains looking down on Kotor Montenegro.  This little country was part of the former Yugoslavia.  I enjoyed our visit and loved this view.
