I didn’t cover as many NCAA football games as I did NFL games, but a few. From those games, I selected this image from my 2024 photos as my favorite. Why did I select this image? I think it’s just all the feet up in the air.
My favorite NFL photo of 2024
The 2024-2025 season isn’t over yet and so far I covered 11 games this season (home and away). That’s on top of training camp and OTAs. As you can imagine, I capture thousounds of images at every game, so over the course of the season the photo count adds up.
Hard to explain why I selected this image as my favorite for 2024. I tend to like sports images that are tight, almost head and shoulders type photos where it allows the viewer to get intimate with the player.
I selected this imagine of Travis Kelce catching a pass for those reasons. It’s clean, simple and allows you in. I hope you like it as well.
My favorite Formula 1 photo of 2024
After literially taking thousands of F1 photos this year, I selected this one as “the 2024 photo” for a few reasons. One, it captured a quiet moment as Sergio Perez climbed into the Red Bull car right before he gets strapped into the seat and has to deal with extreme stress driving the car while he puts his life at risk. Two, these moments in the garage are unique and something most people never get a chance to see with their own eyes. And three, it seemed appropriate to feature Sergio since he won’t be racing in Formula One next season or maybe ever again…..and he deserves some recognition. With so many big stories at the end of the season, his departure from Formula One didn’t get as much attention as you’d expect.

It was great to be back on the sideline again this fall. Let’s hope the 2024 NFL season is entertaining and that the Lions win the Super Bowl. Of course, the Steelers can do well, just not beat my Lions.

Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day
Pittsburgh has a number of the bridges and buildings lit up green for St. Patrick’s day weekend. I met Brad out for sunrise this morning and captured a few photos. I got a few I really liked, but Brad identified the composition, so I’ll save posting those photos for later to let him post them first. I assume he’ll do that so. In the mean time, here is a more tradition photo composition of the 6th Street Bridge.
Kirk Cousins
More big quarterback news today with the announcement that Kirk Cousins is joining the Atlanta Falcons. I took these photos of Kirk in 2021 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Wilson and Tomlin
We all learned in the last 24 hours that Russell Wilson will become a Pittsburgh Steelers player for the 2024-2025 season. Time will tell whether this is a good fit for the team, but it is certainly a cheap option.
I took this photo at the end Seahawks-Steelers game back in 2019. It’ll be interesting seeing these two working together.
Carnival Dream
On one of our cruises, I captured these photos of the fairly new Carnival Dream (new at that time) via my drone. They’ve been sitting here on my computer waiting for their time to shine…. Well, shine away…..

Cincinnati Architecture
After covering a Steelers road game in Cincinnati a while back, the following morning before driving back to Pittsburgh, @jakemysliwczykphoto and I captured some Cincinnati cityscape photographs. Now you get to enjoy some of them.
Golden Gate Bridge
It seems like forever since I’ve been to the west coast. I enjoy San Francisco, but I’m not sure how safe it is anymore. I guess like anywhere else, you have to be careful and watch your surroundings.
Regardless, I’d like to visit SF again at somepoint soon.
Breisacher Telescope
This beautiful little telescope was sitting outside the Breisacher Munster St. Stephan cathedral. The cathedral sits up on a cliff looking down on the town of Breisach Germany and the Rhine River with France on the other side.
