Gary Indiana Fun
Here is a photo from a year ago, right before the world got locked down. A small group of us (the Shutter Rush Team) went to Gary Indiana to photograph some of their many abandoned buildings. This is an indoor elevated school track around the gym floor below. I liked the leading lines, textures, and mood of the photo.
Pink Piano
Here is the famous Pink Piano in Gary Indiana. We went to Gary last March so it wasn’t that long ago, but I can’t remember the name of this abandoned building. Regardless, this is a common spot for Urbex Photographers. We included some footage from this location in our Amazon Prime “Shutter Rush – City of Abandonment” film (available now if you’re interested).

City Methodist
Here is a photo I took with my drone outside the abandoned City Methodist Church in Gary Indiana. Of course, this was taken during the filming of “Shutter Rush – City of Abandonment”. I don’t think we used it in the film, but I liked this photo regardless.

This massive mural is in downtown Gary Indiana. I captured this during my Shutter Rush trip to the Urbex hot spot. We had a great time (laughed a lot, explored some cool locations and burned up memory card space with ton of photos).

I Am Free Now
I took this photo in March (right before COVID blew up our world) on our urban exploration trip to Gary Indiana. As you know by now, that was the last @TeamShutterRush trip which resulted in our 2nd film on Amazon Prime. This specific location was an abandoned classroom.

St. Mary's Mercy Hospital
Today’s post is from an abandoned hospital in Gary Indiana. I captured this during the filming of “Shutter Rush – City of Abandonment”. This abandoned hospital is in very rough shape. Interestingly, the other half was converted into a City of Gary Police department. So, we were careful not to draw attention to ourselves. I think this was supply storeroom for their surgical rooms.

Gary Sparks
No, this isn’t a fireworks photo from this holiday weekend. This photo was created with steel wool inside the boiler room of an abandoned school in Gary Indiana. Jason was spinning while Blair, Jake and I captured photos. This is one of my photos from that moment, which was part of the great Shutter Rush weekend. Right before the COVID outbreak in the United States, a few of us completed a road trip to Gary Indiana for the sole purpose of photographing a bunch of abandoned buildings. This is one of the many gyms we explored during trip.

Sparks Fly
During the recent trip to Gary Indiana to film the 2nd Episode of “Shutter Rush” (look for it in the near future on Amazon Prime), we completed some Steel Wool photos in a number of locations.
