Bonaire Salt Flats

It’s been a minute since our last trip to Bonaire… I took this series of photos from the southeastern coast of the country with my drone.  It is common to have lots of wind in Bonaire and this day was very windy.  My drone didn’t love it

Pripyat Apartment Building

It’s been five months since we returned from our Chernobyl trip and I’ve only processed about 20% of the photos I took on that trip.  And I haven’t edited any of the videos at all.  It’ll take me years to get them all done.  In fact, I just finished editing my photos from South Africa, which happened in 2017…..  It just takes me a while.

Why did I tell you all that, I don’t know.  Regardless, this is a photo I took with the drone looking down at an apartment building in Pripyat inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.  You can see our bus and a few of us on the street in front of the building.  What a great experience.

Pripyat Apartment Building

I haven’t posted a Chernobyl photo recently, so here you go.  This is one of the large apartment buildings in the city of Pripyat a few miles from the nuclear power plant.  Typical Soviet utilitarian style construction.  As you can tell, I was there in the fall while the leaves where changing colors and used by drone to capture this image.

Bonaire Salt Flats

As my many loyal fans (all five of them) have noticed, I was out of touch the last week.  No social media, email, or blog.  The entire family traveled to Bonaire and spent the week relaxing, scuba diving and just having fun.  So I’m sorry I was absent from the rest of the electronic world.

We had a wonderful time and I’d highly recommend this country to anyone to likes Caribbean islands, warm weather, nice people, and amazing scuba diving.  It was windy every day, which is a good thing since it keeps you cool.  But it made it hard to fly my drone.  I wanted to get some photos of the Cargill operated salt flats, which was hard to do with the strong winds.  In the end, I got a few like this photo I’m sharing today

Don’t forget to check out my photo galleries.  I update and add to them often.

Flatiron Building

By popular request, well by MJ’s request….here is a photo of the Flatiron Building in the borough of Manhattan.  It is considered to be the first and groundbreaking skyscraper in New York City.  It was completed in 1902 and was the tallest building in the city for a number of years.  When it was constructed, the people in the city though the wind would blow it over.  So the owners put their offices on the top floor to show their confidence in the structure.

Over one hundred years later, it has become a landmark site that the city is proud of.  I must admit it was one of my favorite buildings.  It is hard not to like this cool looking building.  There is this tiny park in front of it with people hanging out at little tables enjoying the environment.  Cool place.
