2024 F1 Miami Grand Prix

I’m still trying to recover from the 4 action packed days, sun up to sun down, covering this event. Here are a few track side photos from the Grand Prix on Sunday.

2023 F1 Miami Grand Prix

FIA Formula 1 series

I’ve enjoyed the start of the 2023 FIA Formula 1 season so far.  I can’t wait until the next race that I can attend.  Until then, here is a small series of photos I took at the United States Grand Prix last October.

F1 Behind the Scenes

I had a great time covering the 2022 FIA Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin Texas last month.  I’ve already shared a bunch of driver, car and celebrity photos from those three days.

Today, I’m going to share photos from behind the scenes.  These will include the media spaces, media members, drivers getting interviewed, tree planting event, other photographers, myself, etc...

More F1

Here are more from the recent 2022 FIA Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin Texas.

A small sample of the thousands of photos I took today (Race Day). I took just as many the last two days leading up to today capturing all the pre-race activities, practice, qualifying and parties. Make sure you scroll down to see the numerous galleries.

F1 Photo Bomber

I’m looking forward to the upcoming NFL season and the next F1 race in Texas this fall.  Needless to say, I’m ready to be back on the sidelines and trackside.  Thankfully, I’ll be on the sidelines next Monday at Steelers Training Camp.  Unfortunately, it was the only day of Training Camp I could attend due to my schedule.

At the Miami Grand Prix last spring, this one guy kept showing up in my photos.  I’ve been meaning to post these for a while now.  If only I knew who he was….. oh, wait that’s Jason my photographer buddy.

F1 coming at you

I’m still going through my photos from the 2022 Miami Grand Prix race weekend.  Per normal, we moved around the venue to capture photos from many perspectives.  All these photos were taken in the same corner as the cars came at me.  I thought you might like them, since it’s a different composition from the normal racing photos.

More F1 Miami GP

Here are a few more photos from a great weekend in Miami for the first ever Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time photographing this event for the media and I can’t wait for the next race.

Alfa Romeo Team: Zhou Guanyu

Oracle Red Bull: Sergio Perez

Ferrari: Charles Leclarc / Alpha Tauri: Yuki Tsunoda

Is 2022 Checo's Year?

Sergio Perez (nicknamed Checo) is performing at an amazing level this season.  He’d be leading in the Driver’s Championship, if Red Bull had just let him race at the Spain Grand Prix.  Towards the end of that race, the Red Bull team ordered him to let his teammate (Max) pass giving Max the win.  Checo probably would have won that race to go along with his win at Monaco last weekend.  He should be leading the Driver’s Championship instead of being a few points behind Max.

At this point, if a Red Bull driver is going to win, I’m cheering for Checo.  Here are some photos I took of him this season at the Miami Grand Prix.

Leclerc on pole at Spain GP

Charles LeClerc captured the pole position today for tomorrow’s Spain Grand Prix.  Here are a few photos I captured of him at the Miami GP.

Behind the scenes - Miami GP

As promised, here are photos from behind the scenes at the Hard Rock Stadium (location of the race)….

Racing Action - Miami Grand Prix

Here is a batch of racing action photos from the recent Formula 1 race.  Wow, it was a great weekend.  I am very thankful for the media access to cover great events like this.  I can’t wait until the next race.

Faces of F1 Miami

Here is a small fraction of portraits I captured at the FIA Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.  Most of these photos were captured in the Paddock area.  I spent hours hanging out in this area just looking for famous people.  I was the human facial recognition software in action….  More live action racing photos, people, and behind the scenes photos to come.

Miami Grand Prix

I had a great time covering the FIA Formula 1 race in Miami last weekend.  Here are a few car/racing photos from that experience.  In the future, I’ll post some behind the scenes photos and celebrity photos.

Missing F1

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m ready for the 2022 Formula 1 season to start…even though the 2021 season just finished a couple weeks ago.  Here are a few photos I took last October at the FIA Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin Texas.

Sebastian Vettel - Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team

Valtteri Bottas - Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team

Sergio Perez - Red Bull Racing Honda

Scuderia Alpha Tauri

Below are a few photos I captured of the Scuderia Alpha Tauri Formula 1 Team at the 2021 FIA Formula 1 US Grand Prix.  The Alpha Tauri drivers are Pierre Gasly (#10) and Yuki Tsunoda (#22).  They are the sister team to Red Bull Racing.  Yuki is a rookie F1 driver and is just trying to figure it all out.  Gasly is an extremely talented driver who gets the most out of his car.  He often challenges the major teams (Mercedes and Red Bull) even though he has a substandard car and technology.

Carlos Sainz

Today’s post is of Carlos Sainz at the 2021 FIA Formula 1 US Grand Prix which took place at the Circuit Of The Americas (Austin Texas).  Carlos drives for Scuderia Ferrari along with Charles LeClerc.  They are currently 6th (LeClerc) and 7th (Sainz) in the standings for the 2021 Driver’s Championship.

I hope you don’t mind I got a little arty with this photo edit.

Max again

Here is a photo I took during the last couple laps of the FIA Formula 1 USGP in Austin Texas.  These race cars are super fast.  I’d get one good, focused photo out of every 10 photos.  I have one of the fasted shooting and focusing cameras in the world and the cars are too quick!!

It appears that Max Verstappen will win the 2021 season Championship with only a handful of races to go (he has a 12-point lead with 5 races to go).  That’ll make a ton of Red Bull racing fans happy, but I’d prefer to see Lewis Hamilton win his 8th Championship.  It doesn’t look like that will happen this year.  Max will probably get his first.
