I don’t know the name of this resort, but I loved the design. I took this via the drone at sunrise which provided the warm glow and deep shadows. Maybe someday I’ll stay at this location????
Rusty Stairwell
I must be getting old. It seems like I can’t remember photo locations lately. I think this was taken within an abandon WV lunatic asylum, but I’m not sure…. Sad, I know.
Lunatic Asylum
This room was part of the locked down unit (highest security unit…criminally insane) at the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia. I don’t want to know what happened in this space by the patients and to the patients….

Pre-dawn Confidante Hotel
MJ and I spent a week here in January to escape work, COVID (well sort of), and life. Lots of lounging by the pool that week. I captured this photo a few minutes before sunrise one morning. Nice hotel and location.
Mackinac Island Tiger Lily
I captured this photo in someone’s front yard while we walked around the beautiful Mackinac Island last August. I liked the combination of the flowers and the iron fence.

PPG Arena
My Red Wings didn’t make it into the NHL Playoffs, which was disappointing. Locally the Pens fans had their season come to an end this week as well. This statute is outside the Pens’ stadium in downtown Pittsburgh. Honestly, I don’t know which players are represented. I’m sure a Pens fan could tell us.
Arch
This arch is one of many at the Pennsylvanian Building in downtown Pittsburgh. This former train station is now an event center and apartment building. It is worth an explore.
Matthias Church - Budapest
Very interesting side entrance to this amazing church, which looks down upon Budapest. The view from this spot looking down into the city is wonderful.
Miami Beach Sunrise
I loved all the different Art Deco Lifeguard shacks along Miami Beach. Maybe the best Lifeguard shacks ever built.
Cape Town Botanical Garden

The colors, textures and patterns on this room are just overwhelming. This is the main lobby of a Carnival cruise ship. Sorry I don’t remember which one.

Marco Beach
Yesterday I posted a sunset time lapse video from my hotel balcony. Today I have a sunset photo from the same spot on Marco Island Florida.
Pittsburgh Spring
With 2020 lost to COVID, I didn’t get out and take as many photos as I normally would, and that has carried over into 2021. I’m just not motivated or energized like I was in the past….. Maybe work has taken a toll on me?? Regardless, I need to get out of this funk. So, I haven’t taken any spring photos this year. Therefore, here is one from 2019 down near the Clemente Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh.
Hospital Lobby
This is the Pripyat Hospital lobby inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. This hospital received and cared for the firefighters who responded to the nuclear reactor disaster when the Chernobyl accident occurred. All of the firefighters died of radiation exposure.
Parliament
The Hungarian Parliament building on the Danube River is just wonderful during the day and at night. I could take pictures of it nonstop….
