Pittsburgh is a very pretty city. Frankly, it’s underrated and should be a travel destination for those who’ve never been here before. I took this photo looking down on the PPG building with Heinz Field and the three rivers in the background.

Local Pittsburgh native does good in the NFL with the LA Rams. It was fun photographing him last year when the Rams were in Pittsburgh.

For Sunday night, I have a flashback football photo that I took last season. I captured this when the Ravens were in Pittsburgh. This shot of Robert Griffin III (RG3) demonstrates his intensity. You have to wonder what his career would have been like if the Redskins had managed him and his injury correctly. Potentially Hall of Famer but that was then, now he’ll never be viewed in that light. If you think about it, he was the Patrick Mahomes before Patrick Mahomes. Ruined potential.

Flashback to 2018…. Here is a photo I took of Anthony Harris at Heinz Field during a Vikings vs. Steelers game. Harris is a defensive back who has played for the Vikings since 2015 after leaving the University of Virginia.

This is a throw back to last season when Ben Roethlisberger was injured all season. His beard got longer as the season progressed. If we have a 2020 season, it’ll be interesting to see if he has healed completely or not.

Something different for you tonight. I’ve been on a roll of posting dark photos lately. Anyway, here is a Mike Tomlin photo for you from last season. It was the NFL’s 150th anniversary last year, therefore they had all teams wear gear with the year they were created….. For the Pittsburgh Steelers it’s 1933.

Here is something a little different for you. I captured this photo at the Colts vs. Steelers game last season. I was walking behind the Colts bench area and noticed they had their shoe case split open. So, I squatted down to grab a quick photo and captured my reflection in the glass. That was also about the moment I got in trouble. Security came over and ran me off. We’re not allowed to take any still photos from behind the team bench area for some reason.
I’ll keep the football theme going for the 3rd straight day. Here is a photo of the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin from November. I captured this during pregame from the field as Mike walked around talking to his players.

NFL Playoff games today….Vikings vs 49ers and Titans vs Ravens. Here is a photo I captured in 2017 of Terence Newman. He played in the NFL for 15 years before taking his current position as nickel/defensive backs coach for the Vikings.

Below is a collection of video clips and photos from before, during and after the Steelers vs. Rams game. I’ve been trying to capture some video with my iPhone at different times instead of only taking photos with my camera. I’m not a video expert and I don’t claim to be a video editing expert, but this will give you a little idea of what I see from the field.
I haven’t had time to process the photos from last night’s game yet. In the meantime, here is one I captured of Jared Goff getting sacked by Mike Hilton. After this play, Goff left the game for a few plays while he got his physical health in order. This isn’t a great sports photo following all the traditional photography rules… meaning you can’t see their faces or even see much of Mike Hilton. But I can’t help but love the photo based on the position of Goff in mid-air.

Early in yesterday’s game, Minkah Fitzpatrick intercepted this pass and ran it back for a 96-yard touchdown. I captured this photo immediately before he completed the interception. I was in great position to capture this, but not so much as he ran away from me towards the other end of the field to for touchdown.

They play this at every Steelers home game usually in the 3rd quarter to get the crowd pumped up. The video clips are changed every game, so the video portion is unique every time. But the result is the same….
I captured this with my iPhone a few games ago. I’m trying to capture some video this year mainly for my own memory purposes. I realize the Steelers game access I’ve had for the last 8 years will end at some point. So, I want to make sure I capture some of the non-live action game moments as well.
I posted another photo of JuJu towards the beginning of October. Here is one from behind as he ran out of the tunnel during the starting line up announcements. I took this a few weeks ago before the Steelers vs. Seahawks game.

Here are a few small video clips I captured during the game two weeks ago from down on the field while I was photographing the action. Steelers vs. Ravens at Heinz Field 2019
On this Friday night, I have a photo of JuJu Smith-Schuster for you. I took this a few weeks ago when the Steelers were playing the Seahawks. JuJu is about the only star offensive player the Steelers have left at this point. James Conner is a good player, but I don’t think he has reached star status yet….. Have a great weekend.

It was a scary scene at Heinz Field yesterday, when Mason Rudolph was knocked unconscious by Baltimore Raven’s Earl Thomas II. Thankfully Mason only suffered from a concussion (which is serious) and didn’t have a critical life-threatening injury.
I was moved by how much Mason’s team members cared about his situation. Below are a series of photos documenting the aftermath of the hit. I hope Mason has a speedy recovery.
Team members helping him to the tunnel
Climbing on the cart in the tunnel to be taken for medical evaluation.
