I took this photo last spring before they changed the name to Acrisure Stadium. I’m not sure why I didn’t share the photo until now. Oh well, here you go.
Heinz Field Postcard
I don’t think I’ve ever posted a photo of the stadium from the outside; despite the fact I’ve probably posted hundreds from inside. If I have, I don’t remember and I’m too lazy to go back and double check.
Regardless, I took this photo last July on a day with wonderful clouds. Frankly, when I look at this photo, my eye goes to the clouds, and I don’t really see the stadium as the area of focus. What about you?
Two Sides of Joe Haden
I didn’t go to the Steelers vs. Titans game today. I’ve been dealing with a cold for two weeks, so I skipped it. It didn’t seem like a smart idea to sit outside for 6 hours in the near freezing temperature while I’m fighting this small illness. I’ve made good use of the extra time and have been editing NFL photos much of the day.
Here is an unusual edit from a photo I took of Joe Haden during the Steelers-Bears game about a month ago.
Steelers vs Ravens
Pics from tonight’s game.
Steelers vs Lions
Here are a few photos from today’s game. (Heinz Field – November 14, 2021). It was a cold, wet, and ugly game. Neither team desired to win and neither one of them did.
Enjoyment
Frank Hyatt and I during Monday Night Football (Steelers vs. Bears) earlier this week. I don’t remember what was so funny at the time, but clearly I had a good time. Frank is a wonderful person and fun to be around. I’m very lucky to have so many great photography friends. People like Jason, Jake, Brian, Frank, Ed, Dave, Brad, etc…

Professional Sports Photographers on the NFL Sideline
When I think back over the last decade, I’ve been helped, coached, and mentored by many great photographers. Like any group of individuals, not everyone is helpful or at times even nice…but most are and I’m thankful to all of them.
You see the games and often see our work, but you often don’t see us on the sidelines. I’d like to share some photos of these professionals who bring you the great images you see in newspapers, magazines, websites and on social media channels.
The photos are from yesterday’s Steelers vs. Broncos game (October 10, 2021) at Heinz Field. As you see, we have some fun while we’re capturing photos for the media, teams, players, wire services, and the fans.
By the way, I often get asked what camera gear I use. In the end, it doesn’t really matter. For example, this group of photographers use Sony, Nikon Canon, Fijifilm, GoPros, DJi Pocket Osmos, iPhones, etc…. Basically what ever works!!
These photos were taken by us (Jason Pohuski, Jake Mysliwczyk, Mark Alberti, Ed Thompson, Brian Cook and me) of each other.
Buggs
Isaiah Buggs is a defensive end for the Steelers after being drafted by them in 2019. Prior to joining the Steelers, he attended and played football at the University of Alabama. The first photo is from Buffalo on September 12th. The second photo is from last Sunday (September 19th) at Heinz Field when the Steelers were hosting the Raiders.

Steelers vs Raiders Game Action
It was a great week 2 game at Heinz Field. Here are a few action photos I captured from the Raiders win (sorry Steelers fans).
Bryan Edwards trying to avoid getting tackled.

RB Najee Harris diving into the End Zone for his 1st career touchdown
Pete Carroll
We’re one week away from the start of the NFL regular season. I’m ready, are you?
For the second year in a row, COVID is messing up the NFL season (along with our entire world) and once again due to COVID restrictions, I’ll need to get game media credentials on a game-by-game basis. I’ve been very fortunate in the past and was granted season access. They’ve limited media access, which is completely understandable.
So, I probably won’t be covering every game this season, but I’m hopeful I’ll get to photograph many of them. This will be my tenth year covering the Steelers…. I’ve been very lucky (I also work pretty darn hard, but also very lucky) ….in my career, relationships, photography and in life generally. I’m grateful!!
By the way, I took this photo of Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll during the 2019 season. Have a great football season. I hope your team wins.
Running Out Of The Tunnel
I’ll be covering the Steelers road game in Cincinnati tonight for the Observer Reporter (OR) newspaper. The OR has been great to me over the years. I’ve photographed the Steelers from the sidelines for them for nine years. In preparation for Monday Night Football (Steelers vs. Bengals), I’m sharing this footage from when the Bengals were in Pittsburgh earlier this season.
Heyward
Here is a photo from last Sunday’s game of defensive lineman Cameron Heyward….

Trouble
I took this photo in 2018 at Heinz Field. I loved that season, since I got to see all the NFC North teams play the Steelers. On this play, Big Ben didn’t stand a chance of surviving.

Martavis
Tonight’s post is a throwback to 2018. This is Martavis Bryant in 2017 before he was traded to the Raiders. Shortly after getting to Raiders he dramatically hurt his career by getting an indefinite suspension for violating the NFL’s drug policy…. At this point, he hasn’t been reinstated yet. Extremely sad since he is talented.

Here is a quick pic from last season. T.J. was celebrating a tackle in the Steelers vs. Rams game at Heinz Field.

Simply Ben
This is a throw back to last season when Ben Roethlisberger was injured all season. His beard got longer as the season progressed. If we have a 2020 season, it’ll be interesting to see if he has healed completely or not.

Hard at Work
I received these photos today via email. They were taken by the amazing Frank Hyatt. He captured Jason and I (orange hat) working hard photographing the Steelers vs. Seahawks last weekend.
