Diontae's TD

It was great covering the Steelers-Bills game yesterday in Buffalo for a few reasons.  First, it was great to get the season started.  Second, the environment was fun to experience.  I’ll admit the Bills fans seemed louder than I normally experience in Pittsburgh.

Diontae Johnson made this acrobatic touchdown catch in the 4th quarter right in front of me.  Sometimes I’m lucky to be in the right spot at the right time.

I’ll share more photos from the game later this week.

Missing Calvin

Not only has Calvin not played the last couple of weeks, but the Detroit Lions have a bye this week.  It seems like two years since he’s been on the field….even though I know it hasn’t been that long.  So I’ll be forced to watch some other NFL teams today, when I just want to see Calvin catching 50 year TD passes.   Is it a man-crush?  I think not.  But I’ll admit, I’m a huge Calvin fan.  Unfortunately, I think he’ll be hurt more and more often.  But I’ll enjoy watching him when he’s on the field.

Have a great NFL Sunday.

Calvin!!!!

I know that I should be excited about the World Cup right now, but honestly I am just ready for some American Football.  I’ve secured my NFL Steelers Media sideline pass for the 2014-2015 season.  Now I just need the season to start.

So to hold me over, here is a picture I took of my favorite player….. Calvin “Megatron” Johnson.  I took this photo last season when the Lions played the Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  I stalked Calvin on the field that day.  The Lions only play in Pittsburgh, once every 12 years.  So I had to photograph him as much as I could while I had my chance.  Go Lions!!!

Week 14 of the NFL season is already upon us.  It is amazing how quickly the season flies by.  The Detroit Lions are playing the Eagles this weekend.  Let’s hope they can win and move to 8 – 5.  They probably need at least 2 more wins this season, if not 3, to make it into the playoffs.

So in honor of the Detroit Lions, I am posting this photo I took of Calvin Johnson.  This was the rainy game against the Pittsburg Steelers.  Clearly you can see the pass interference in this photo.  Of course, the refs never called it.  Oh well…..  All I can say is Go Lions!!!!

Calvin Johnson

I had a great football weekend and was sad to see it end.  The weather could have been better on Sunday.  It rained all day, but at least it wasn’t cold.  So I dressed appropriately and stayed dry.  But it made photographing the game difficult and you can see it affected some of the photos.  You can see rain in all the photos.  At times it adds character to the photos.  Other times it just looks like there was dust on my lens.

Regardless, I had a great time and enjoyed watching my Lions up close and personal.  It was cool being able to talk with some of the players Nick Fairley, Louis Delmas, and Antonio Brown.  And I think I got a few keepers.  You can see more from this game and decide for yourself at:
