I’ve been waiting to photograph this spot for over a year. I got it done today. Happy New Year.
Tulum
Tulum has exploded in popularity over the last five years. It’s amazing how Instagram can do good things, although there are negative items that come from social media as well. IG’s influence has driven a increase in tourism to Tulum that’s improved the local economy. Of course, it has driven up the price going to there as well.
Bull Sharks!!
Blair and I had a great day of diving with Bull Sharks. Unfortunately, they didn’t get very close to us in the water, unlike our last dive with them. I know that sounds like a strange thing to say (…wanting sharks to get closer to us), but it isn’t a scary thing. It was just hard to get good photos of them when they stayed far away.
Regardless, here are some of the best photos from this day.
Cenote Scuba Diving
If you’re a scuba diver, I’d highly recommend diving some of the cenotes in Mexico. Blair and I completed a couple of them on our last trip to Mexico. I’ve also completed a number of cenote dives on prior trips. Here are some photos from the recent dives.
Riviera Maya Resort
I hope you’re staying warm on this chilly January day. Here are some photos from a warm location, past trip. All these photos were taken at dusk with the drone. I love this pool.
Mexican Resort and Sunrise
All I have for you today, is a photo from paradise. I took this drone photo during sunrise near Playa del Carmen Mexico.
Private Dining Spot
The upper level is a great private spot to grab a meal at the Las Hijas Beach Club in Playa del Carmen.
Las Hijas Beach Club
If you’re ever in Playa del Carmen, check out this place. We’ve eaten here a few times and highly recommend it. It’s right on the ocean with great views and the food is pretty darn good.
Private Party
While in Mexico, we ate at this seaside restaurant three times. During one of those visits, we got a chance to sit out here in this private area. It was a great spot to watch the sunset from while enjoying a great meal.
Playa Resort
I don’t know the name of this resort, but I loved the design. I took this via the drone at sunrise which provided the warm glow and deep shadows. Maybe someday I’ll stay at this location????
Playa Vibes
We had an amazing time in Playa del Carmen and I’m ready to go back right now. Here is a short video from our time there.
Sunrise Yoga
During our last trip to Mexico, the resort held a yoga session on the beach at sunrise each morning. I didn’t participate, but the yoga group helped provide an area of interest in this high angle drone photos so that it was an empty beach.
Up Palm
Here is a photo from a recent trip to Playa del Carmen….
Mexican Cenotes
I’ve had the chance to scuba dive in several great locations across the globe. That includes doing a bunch of Cenotes (cavern) diving in eastern Mexico. Here are a few photos from my recent Cenote dives.

Playa Sunrise
I hope you’re having a great weekend. This is one of the many great sunrises we had in Playa del Carmen Mexico.
Elements Pool
Here is a drone photo of the pool inside The Elements condo complex in Playa del Carmen Mexico.
Dream On The Move
During our last cruise on the Carnival Mardi Gras, I had an opportunity to get some drone footage and photos of the Carnival Dream while it was coming into port. I don’t know if the ship knew I was flying around it with the drone, but I got some great content. Here is a photo I took when I was done and the ship was sailing away from me.
Somewhere in Mexico
I honestly don’t remember where I took this photo. It was around Cancun somewhere, either south or north of the city. Regardless, I like the colors and warmth of this photo. Just looking at it, creates a desire to go back… like right now!!
Cancun Resort
Here is the entrance (lobby) of a resort MJ and I stayed at in the Cancun area a few years ago. It wasn’t the most practical design, but I loved it anyway.

Tulum Resort
I am so ready to travel again after its safe. I miss getting on a plane and going somewhere exotic, fun, warm, etc…. Until then I’ll just have to live with my past travel photos. This one is from one of our Mexico trips. I love drone photos of these resorts.
