I took this photo prior to COVID-19, so it isn’t new. It’s been waiting on my hard drive for its turn to shine. What I like about this photo is the demonstration of speed/movement, since Manhattan is always in motion.
Steelers vs Jets
Here is my set of photos from today’s game at Acrisure Stadium.
Oculus
This is the Oculus at the site of the World Trade Center memorial in Manhattan. I tried to capture this building from every angle and perspective. What do you think of the One World Trade Center in the upper right corner of the photo?
Big Apple Dusk
I captured this photo back in 2017 from the Top of the Rock…. That was a great evening.
Oculus World Trade Center Station
I enjoyed my last trip to NYC back in 2019. MJ and I explored Manhattan, per our normal process. This was the first time we explored the Oculus building. This unique building is a terminal station on the PATH subway system. It also has an underground mall within it. I loved the architecture of this building.
Manhattan Bridge
Here is a photo I took back in 2017 that hasn’t been shared with the world. It has been sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to release it on the world…. So here you go.

Southern Manhattan
I love this view!! I took this photo looking towards southern Manhattan from the Top of the Rock. I’d highly recommend spending an evening up there for a few hours ranging before and after sunset.

NYC's Vessel
I’ve posted a few photos for this structure in the past. This time is from the top looking down the center. You can see the elevator at the 7th floor, which we never used by the way…..

Vessel and Empire State Building
During our last trip to NYC (last fall), MJ and I visited the Vessel and the High Line. While we walked the High Line, I captured this photo of the Vessel with the Empire State Building in the background. It was interesting to see it from a distance after being inside it a few minutes before hand. There was also this weird reflection of the sun off the building behind it that caused an odd bright contrasting space towards the top of the Vessel.

NYC During Better Times
As we all struggle with the impacts of COVID world-wide, my thoughts go out to many areas around the world who are getting hit the hardest right now. One of those areas is NYC. I took this photo last year of the Oculus near the World Trade Center.

NYC At Dusk
Here is a photo that’s been sitting on my hard drive for a couple of years waiting for it’s turn to shine. I took this just after sunset from the Top Of The Rock.

High Line
If you ever get to NYC, check out the Highline. They took an elevated train track that runs for a few miles through Manhattan and converted it into an elevated city park called the Highline. This is one of the Highline green spaces with a pretty cool building next to it. Not exactly what you’d expect in Manhattan.

Grace
I love traveling everywhere, but there is something special about Manhattan. I took this photo in August during our last trip to NYC. This is in midtown Manhattan on West 42nd Street. MJ and I were just walking by and I happened to look up….this was the result.

H&M
Tonight’s post is from our last trip to NYC. As part of the trip, MJ and I were in Manhattan towards the end of July. Every time we go to NYC, I have a great time. On this night, we went to a rooftop bar near Times Square to grab a drink, some food and great sunset photos.

Looking Up
I don’t know about you, but my life has been very busy over the last couple of years. And know it has gotten worse lately, for the obvious reasons. I love photography and sharing my photos/thoughts with you on this blog. But it can be tough at times to keep this updated. With that said, here is a photo for you and a very short narrative.
This is another photo from the Vessel in the Hudson Yards area of Manhattan. This is from the inside looking up.

Oculus Shadows
During our last visit to Manhattan, we visited the Oculus. What an amazing spot! It is basically a subway station, but that description doesn’t do it justice. This is an architectural marvel on the inside and out. It is so modern and all white throughout. It’s big from the outside, but once you go inside…wow!! There are three floors under street level with all kinds of cool stores and access to the subway platforms. Just wonderful.
We explored the inside and the outside (I took a ton of photos of course). I captured some traditional perspectives, but also some unique angles/composition like this photo. I loved how the shadows fell across the sidewalk and street.

Vessel TKA
As you may already know, due to MJ’s FB post, we’ve been in NYC the last couple of days. This was one of our first stops upon arriving in the Manhattan. We explored this cool structure that is part art and part observation deck in the newly redeveloped Hudson Yards.
A few facts about this structure: It rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs in a honeycomb pattern. There are 2,500 steps and 80 landings for visitors to climb. The final cost was near $200 million to build and is currently going by the title of Vessel TKA. TKA stands for Temporarily Known As because they don’t have a permanent name for it yet. The owners have a website dedicated to the public helping with the final name. The Vessel opened in March 2019.
As you can probably guess, I took a ton of photos from all angles….inside, outside, down low, up high, etc…

One World Trade Center
MJ and I are heading to Manhattan soon for a short trip. I’ll get some work in and some fun in (via photography, site seeing & great food).
That upcoming trip had me thinking about our last Manhattan trip. Therefore, this photo of One World Trade Center from that trip.

ESB
I’m keeping it short tonight. Here is a photo I took of the Empire State Building just after sunset. I loved the colors in the sky that evening. What do you think?

Walking To Manhattan
If you haven’t walked the Brooklyn Bridge towards Manhattan at night, you must!! I insist!! Add that to your “Bucket List”. I’ve done this a couple of times and love it. Safe, clean, fun and just awesome. I highly recommend it.
