Before the world fell apart, MJ and I went on a cruise out of New Orleans. I captured this time lapse video from our cruise ship balcony as the ship left the Port of New Orleans.
Stills
Drew Brees
I had a great day photographing the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints game at Heinz Field today. We had outstanding weather (mid 60s, with no raid or snow) for late November in Pittsburgh. The outcome of the game didn’t matter to me, I just wanted to:
1. Not get hurt
2. Have fun
3. Get a few good pictures
I accomplished all those goals. So here is a picture of the outstanding (future Hall of Fame Quarterback) Drew Brees for your viewing pleasure tonight. I thought this picture from the game was pretty good.

I’ve been wearing an orange baseball hat to the last few games because some friends have wanted to find me on TV, which isn’t very easy. When you put 100 photographers on the sideline and force us all to wear the same tan NFL vest, we become hard to see….which is fine with me. We are not the focus of the event. Anyway, while I was at the game, I saw myself in a highlight from earlier in the game. When I got home, I looked it up. I have it here for you. My half second of fame……
This is the replay from ESPN. I am in the corner with the big arrow highlighting me…
Here are two of my photos from that same play.
New Orleans City Park
MJ and I took the trolley north of the Bourbon Street to go find New Orleans City Park. We spent some time walking around this very large park (larger then NYC’s Central Park). It was a nice day, nice weather, and very pretty park.
Amzie Adams
While MJ and I where walking down Frenchman Street, just outside the French Quarter area of New Orleans, we ran into Amzie Adams twice. When we passed him the first time, I told MJ that I needed to get his portrait. So when I saw him a second time, I didn’t miss the opportunity. Thankfully, Mr. Adams quickly agreed and let me take a few photos. It turns out he is an artist and musician who has been a fixture of the French Quarter since the 1960s. You can check out his website here: www.amzieadams.com
By the way, we found Frenchman Street to be a pretty cool place within the city with all kinds of cool bars….. Not that I was out late at any time. MJ and I were tucked into our hotel room fairly early each night after spending almost all day outside in the sun.
Sandra Bullock’s Home
Honestly, I don’t really care much about celebrities. They’re just people we put on a high pillar for no reason. They’re no better then you and me. That said, I did like Sandra Bullock’s home in the Garden District of New Orleans. In fact, I liked the entire neighborhood. As MJ and I were walking through the area, somebody pointed out her home to us.
