Vervet

Everybody needs a little Vervet Monkey in their life.  I know I enjoyed my time around some of these wonderful creatures in South Africa.  I took a bunch of photos while they played around us and tried to get our food.

Harrison

I didn’t know what to post tonight.  So…I have a football photo for you from the Steelers vs. Jaguars game this season.  I like this photo of James Harrison.  He is an impressive human being.  I haven’t found to many other people who are as short at him, but be as big.  I know that doesn’t really make sense, but he is a huge human.  And he always looks so mad, but I don’t really think he’s a bad or mean person.  Anyway, enjoy this portrait photo.

Matthew

Tonight I have something different for you.  Outside of football, I almost never take people photos.  But earlier this week, the local modeling agency sent over their new talent….Matthew.  Matthew, his crew and I had a great time.  We had about an hour of Matthew’s valuable time and captured some great images of him while he vogued for us.  So here is Matthew….

Self Portrait

I’ve seen this type of photo before and decided I wanted to try it.  Last night, I was on the North Shore area of Pittsburgh taking photos with Brad and Dave (I’ll post some of those pictures on another day).  In advance, I packed some extra gear so I could try this on the way home.  I’d call this a test photo….not the quality I’d like for a final photo.

I knew to do this right I’d need a helper with me.  That helper could drive the car while I sat in the back seat taking the photos.  From there I could adjust the camera settings and make sure I captured a great photo.  Because I didn’t have a helper, I did the best I could with the settings configured in advance.  I couldn’t adjust them while driving and I used a remote camera exposure trigger so I could drive without being distracted.  I figured I’d get some test shots, so that when I had a helper in the future, the photos would be great.  And I was right.  Now I am ready to really get this right.

Anyway, I think the test shots turned out pretty good.  Certainly, not perfect.  What do you think of the photo?  Leave a comment to let me know.

Emily

As all of you know, I don’t take many pictures of people unless they are wearing a football jersey.  But this week I had a great opportunity.  The L Modeling Agency brought their latest model over for a photo shoot.  We got the lights out, setup the studio, and snapped away.  Emily was all business and can hold her own with any professional model.  I had a great time shooting with Michelle and Larry (her parents and our friends).  This specific picture is a collaboration….my light set, Michelle took the picture, Larry and I entertained the model to get that smile, and I post processed the image.  Emily is such a cutie….

Self-Portrait

Lazy!  That’s what I am tonight.  So you get my lazy attempt at a self-portrait.  As you can see, I have my sight set on the upcoming football season.  If all goes well, I’ll be shooting the Pitt vs. FSU game on Monday night.
