I’m sure on Super Bowl Sunday my post should be football related. But I’ve been thinking a bunch about our 2021 Iceland trip. So, you’re getting this photo from the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon on the southeastern side of the country. Great spot!!
Halsanefshelier Sea Cave
Here is another great spot in Iceland. You can’t see the three sea caves (one to our right and two to our left) in this photo. There are a number of spots around Iceland where you can see basalt shaped rocks like this created by past lava flow. This spot has tons of them, and they are super big. The make up the entire structure of the caves and the area around them.
You can get some idea of the scale of them, just by seeing us sitting on a couple of them. This photo probably includes 1% of them in this area.
The location also has a very cool black pebble stone beach. We didn’t go to this spot on our first Iceland trip, but I’m very glad we did on this trip. Great experience!!
Bonaire Diving
Its hard to believe it’s only been 9 months since we were in Bonaire. It feels more like 10 years to me. Weird how time feels different depending on what’s going on in our lives.
Anyway, I took this photo at the scuba diving shop at our resort during our time in Bonaire. They have all these painted rocks from people all over the world. These are just a small sample of the total.

Bonaire Dreaming
I’m always continually amazed at how quickly time flies by. With that in mind, it’s hard to believe it has been over a month since we were in Bonaire. I want to go back. I loved this country. Just outstanding from every perspective. I’ve been dreaming about going back since the moment we left.
I don’t think I’ve ever shared a cell phone photo before, so this is a first. We went on a kayaking excursion towards the end of the week, so I didn’t take my camera. When we arrived at the kayaking launch spot, I found this massive drift wood. There was no way to pass this up without taking a photo, so I did with my phone. It’s not the best quality photo in the world, but I like it.

Splash!!
I must have taken a couple hundred photos at this exact spot capturing the waves as they crashed up on the rocks behind the sea lions trying to capture the perfect moment when the entire scene came together. I doubt I captured the perfect image, but it turned out pretty good. In case you’re wondering, this spot is at the southern tip of Cape Peninsula in Western Cape South Africa.

Grist Mill
Today’s picture is of the Grist Mill in Babcock State Park in West Virginia. We planned this perfectly to capture the fall color change at this spot and of course, it didn’t work out. As you can see, the color was changing, but we missed the peak fall foliage color.

Babcock State Park
I hope you’re having a great weekend. I’m just taking it easy and enjoying some down time. Today’s photo is from Babcock State Park in West Virginia. Blair, MJ and I went down there last fall chasing the fall color change. As you can see, we missed it. But I got this great shot anyway.

Ricketts Glen State Park
I’ve written about this location many times in the past, but I’ll say it again. If you get the chance, go hike the waterfall trail at this Pennsylvania state park. There are a ton of great waterfalls all within a three-mile hike. Just amazing.
