Tulum

Tulum has exploded in popularity over the last five years.  It’s amazing how Instagram can do good things, although there are negative items that come from social media as well.  IG’s influence has driven a increase in tourism to Tulum that’s improved the local economy.  Of course, it has driven up the price going to there as well.

Miami Beach Lifeguard Shacks

A combination of drone and land-based photos from our last Miami trip.  I tried to photograph the lifeguard shacks at different times of the day.

Bonaire Water Sports

The country of Bonaire is a water sport fan’s dream come true.  Sign me up for the scuba diving.  But if you can do it in, under or above the ocean, then this is your place.  We spent a couple hours having lunch at a great seaside restaurant watching the windsurfers and I captured a few images as well.

Reef Dives

I’ve posted some photos recently from the shark and cenote dives.  Now here are some photos from our reef dive.

Bull Sharks!!

Blair and I had a great day of diving with Bull Sharks.  Unfortunately, they didn’t get very close to us in the water, unlike our last dive with them.  I know that sounds like a strange thing to say (…wanting sharks to get closer to us), but it isn’t a scary thing.  It was just hard to get good photos of them when they stayed far away.

Regardless, here are some of the best photos from this day.

Seafire Resort Aerial Series

I hope you’re having a great day.  It is cold outside across much of the United States today.  Here are a few photos from the warm and beautiful Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman Island.  All of these were taken with my drone.

Seafire Holidays

The Kimpton Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman is a wonderful place.  The beach and facility are amazing along with having a great staff.  It is a unique experience to be there during the holidays.

Bonaire Salt Flats

It’s been a minute since our last trip to Bonaire… I took this series of photos from the southeastern coast of the country with my drone.  It is common to have lots of wind in Bonaire and this day was very windy.  My drone didn’t love it

Tracy Arm Fjord

Here are a few photos from our excursion to Tracy Arm Fjord Alaska to see the glacier.

Hard to tell in this photo, but they claim this glacier is 400 feet tall sea cliff edge

Iceland Glacier Watershed

MJ and I traveled 30 minutes down a gravel road to see a glacier lagoon in this northwest area of Iceland only to find out climate change had eliminated it.  The glacier has retreated up the mountain, but the runoff from the melting glacier continues to feed this area, which makes for interesting photos.

Mardi Gras Sunrise

I took this photo at the stern of the Carnival Mardi Gras right underneath the roller coaster… (as you can guess by the title of this post) at sunrise.  I love how all the different colors in this photo play with your eyes.  I think it works in a weird way.  I don’t think you’d walk past this spot normally and think “photo spot”.  But on this morning, it caught my attention.
