Last night I went on a photo walk with Brad Truxell, Dave Truxell, and my son Blair. We met on the North Shore of Pittsburgh and had a great time. It was a wonderfully warm (for October) evening with a great “blue hour” for photography. This picture is of the Rachel Carson Bridge.

This bridge is also known as the Ninth Street Bridge. It spans the Allegheny River in downtown Pittsburgh along with two other almost identical bridges (Roberto Clemente Bridge & Andy Warhol Bridge). Combined these three bridges are called The Three Sisters. They are self-anchored suspension bridges and this specific bridge opened in November 1926. In 2006, the city renamed the bridge after Rachel Carson, a Pittsburgh native, who was a famous naturalist.

As you can tell, I climbed up (only a few feet) the bridge support suspension on the left side to get this up close and personal photo. Have a great night.
