Myers

The Steelers got their butts kicked yesterday by the Jacksonville Jaguars.  No doubt about it.  They just lost to a team that was better than them on that day for whatever reason.  Tonight’s photo is Jason Myers (#2), who is the placekicker for the Jaguars.  He’s in his third season and seems to be having a good career (so far).

Most of the football photos I share are action shots.  So from time to time, I try to throw in some candid photos of the “action” off the field.

Playmaker

Last week he didn’t behave very well on the sidelines.  This week he was better and had some big plays.  Unfortunately for Steelers’ fans, Antonio and the rest of the offense didn’t have a great game.  This photo was taken towards the end of the game when the Steelers were trying to make a comeback.  That was before the 5th (back breaking) interception.

West Branch Big Creek

Today’s tasks….taking care of a bunch of chores around the house today.  I’ve been really busy lately and all the small things have been piling up behind my work and volunteer work deadlines.  Anyway, I’ll stop complaining now, here is today’s post from northern Michigan.  This is West Branch Big Creek at dawn.

Pepsi

First, let me say that I am truly sorry.  I disappeared from my website and all my social media sites since September 20th.  As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve been extremely busy with my work and my volunteer activities.   Many of you came back day after day, looking to see if I posted a new update.  I appreciate all your help and I’m sorry I made you wait.

Second, today’s post is from NYC.  This huge sign (look at the people walking below it) is positions on the East River facing back towards Manhattan (across from the United Nations Building).  I used to drink a ton of Pepsi, so this sign caught my eye.

Villanueva

As I mentioned in my blog post, it was hot during last Sunday’s Steelers vs. Vikings game.  Everyone got through it the best way they could find, including Steelers left tackle Alejandro Villanueva.  I would have paid him good money for that bottle of water.  The Steelers have always treated me well in the past, but we ran out of water during the first quarter of the game.   Oh well, I survived and had a good time.  So, I’ll stop complaining now.  By the way here is a fun fact, Villanueva is a military veteran, which is another reason to like him.

Late Night Post

As you may have noticed, I had another brief time away from my site and social media.  The reason…… is work.  I’ve just been busy with work and had to prioritize work higher than most things lately.  So you now get the first post in four days posted after 11:30pm.  That sounded really depressing, but that’s not what I want.  So you get this happy little photo from a past sunrise in Mexico.  I woke up this morning at 530am and spent the very early morning on the beach by myself waiting for this moment.

9/11 Memorial

I realize this is a late in the day post.  Sometimes life, work, and Baldrige gets in the way of fun.  So…on September 11th, a day no American will ever forget, I am sharing my photo from the 9/11 Memorial site.

Beast

I don’t know what to say about James Harrison.  If he is on your favorite team, you’d love him.  If he isn’t, you hate him.  Regardless, he’s been a force in the NFL for many years.  I hope everyone has a great NFL Kickoff Weekend.

Valhalla Ranch

Here is another photo from my time at Valhalla Ranch near Grayling Michigan.  This 650-acre hunting resort is a wonderful place.  If you’re a deer hunter, you won’t be disappointed with the number and size of the white tail deer.  I took this photo behind the lodge which sits next to the West Branch Big Creek.  I loved the composition of the river, the forest and the ranch road.

It Takes A Team

Tonight’s photo is from the last time the Patriots were in town to play the Steelers.  I’m looking forward to their rematch this year.  As you can tell, it is hard to tackle Le’Veon Bell….

Bando Fun

I hope everyone in the United States enjoyed the Labor Day weekend.  We hung out with family, relaxed and got a little Urban Exploration in while the family was here.  We visited a number of cool abandoned buildings.  Isn’t that what you do with your visiting family…take them to abandoned buildings?

Princess Cay Beach

Wow, the weekend goes by fast!!  I had a full day, which started with a little bando photography and ended with a nice BBQ with the family.  Now, I’m relaxing before I go to sleep.  I was debating about what photo to share with you and ultimately decided to go with a beach scene.  That said, here is a photo I took in the Bahamas using my drone.

Dealership

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.  I still haven’t recovered from the last few weeks.  I need a week of bed rest.  But that will have to wait.

Last weekend while I was in northern Michigan, I flew my drone between scuba dives out on Lake Huron. It was a good way to waste time while conducting our mandatory surface intervals.

Today’s post is a picture from a local car dealership at night.  I like the patterns, colors and perspective.

Valhalla Ranch

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been off the grid the last 10 days or so.  Between work, work travel, my Baldrige volunteer work and some fun travel; I’ve been extremely busy.  I started last week in Washington D.C. for work meetings and ended the week in northern Michigan to get some ship wreck scuba diving in around the Mackinaw Straits area of Lake Huron.  By the way, the scuba diving in the Great Lakes is amazing.  But I’ll leave that for another day.

Anyway, I had an old friend contact me to see if I’d photograph his hunting resort and ranch in Northern Michigan.  He had no idea that I was going to already be in that area.  So, I spent some time at his 605 acres ranch and resort photographing the deer, the property and the facilities.  I have to admit, he has a wonderful setup if you just want some quiet time in the forest or you want to bag a trophy white tail buck.  You can see more on his location here:  http://www.valhallami.com/

Tonight’s photo is one of the bucks.  We came up on this one by mistake and found it laying in the tall grass.

Navy Yards

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Washington DC.  I’ve been to D.C. probably 30 plus times in the past, but I’ve never had a chance to see any of the museums.  So, we set some time aside to visit some of the Smithsonian museums.  We got to the Natural History, Gallery of Arts and the Air/Space museums.  I have to say, they are an amazing resource for our country….and they’re free!  We also went to the Arlington National Cemetery, U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, Washington National Cathedral, JFK memorial, Vietnam memorial, etc…….  Just fun….oh and the weather was hot!!!

Fair Fun

Okay, tonight’s post is from the county fair.  I haven’t been to a fair in over ten years.  Heck, maybe 15 years ago…. I’m not really sure.  Blair and I went only to photograph some of the rides at night.  Here is one from the ferris wheel.

Isla Mujeres

Today’s post is from our last Mexico trip.  While we were down there, we took a boat over to Isla Mujeres.  We did some snorkeling, sailing, site seeing, exploring and just a bunch of fun having.   This is a photo I as we sailed up to the island at the beginning of our day.

Manhattan Skyline

We don’t have a trip to NYC this year and that’s a little sad.  I understand why some individuals would not want to visit a “big city”.  It just not for everyone, I get that.  But I really enjoy my visits and am looking forward to our next visit…whenever that may be.  Anyway, I took this photo from on top of Rockefeller Center right before sunset.
