Grafarkirkja

This turf structure is the oldest church in Iceland.  It is located on the north side of the country (Skagi Peninsula) near the village of Hofsos.  Parts of the turf church date back to the 17th century.  Turf structures like this were often used during that time for houses, churches, and businesses.  Weird fact, this church is the only one in Iceland with a circular turf-wall around the graveyard and the church.

Nanuk & Cigars

For the record, I’m not a smoker and don’t recommend it for anyone. That said, Blair likes Cigars and I recorded, edited and created this for him, which features his Nanuk 935 case and cigars. He isn’t a country music fan, but I thought the song worked….

Buggs

Isaiah Buggs is a defensive end for the Steelers after being drafted by them in 2019.  Prior to joining the Steelers, he attended and played football at the University of Alabama.  The first photo is from Buffalo on September 12th.  The second photo is from last Sunday (September 19th) at Heinz Field when the Steelers were hosting the Raiders.

Steelers vs Raiders Game Action

It was a great week 2 game at Heinz Field.  Here are a few action photos I captured from the Raiders win (sorry Steelers fans).

Bagger Mayhem Racing

Last weekend was filled with sports photography. I covered the Steelers at Bills game on Sunday. The day before I was in Garrettsville Ohio covering motorcycle racing. The Bagger Mayhem Racing Team invited me over to cover them. Here is Brian who is the co-team owner and primary driver. They have another driver in training, a couple of mechanics and a great sponsor in Hard Drive Parts.

Faces Of The Game - Non Team Member Edition

The emotion I discussed during my post at each game carries over to everyone else in the stadium as well.  Plus, you find some of the most unusual outfits.  Here are some photos from last Sunday of others in the stadium.

Faces Of The Game

One of the things I like about sports and photographing sports is the emotion involved.  Everything from extremely happy to extreme sad.  The full range emotions are on display throughout every game.

Here are a few photos from last Sunday’s game (Steelers at Bills) that display what I’m talking about.

Diontae's TD

It was great covering the Steelers-Bills game yesterday in Buffalo for a few reasons.  First, it was great to get the season started.  Second, the environment was fun to experience.  I’ll admit the Bills fans seemed louder than I normally experience in Pittsburgh.

Diontae Johnson made this acrobatic touchdown catch in the 4th quarter right in front of me.  Sometimes I’m lucky to be in the right spot at the right time.

I’ll share more photos from the game later this week.

Ready For Some Football???

The NFL season started last night with the Thursday night game (Tampa Bay vs. Dallas).  Most of the games are on Sunday and I’m happy to kick off my season as well.  I’ll be in Buffalo photographing the Bills vs. Steelers game for the media….  I’ve been covering the Steelers for over a decade as a representative of the Observer Reporter newspaper.

I’m very excited to get my season started…. It should be great environment with the Bills crazy fans.  Let’s Go!!
