The main Carnegie Museums sit in the Oakland area of
Pittsburgh. Part of the museum
includes the Carnegie Music Hall, which is a remarkable Italian Renaissance
architectural design commissioned by Andrew Carnegie. Construction was started in 1891 and it has been used for
performance ever since.
Last spring, I called, emailed, and bugged the Events Coordinator until she allowed Brad, Dave, MJ and I access to photograph the inside of this amazing building. Tonight’s photo is of the main lobby outside of the music all. They had it setup for a wedding reception later in the day, which is a popular venue for receptions and events.
I captured this photo with a 3 exposure auto-bracketed set of images (+1, 0, -1) and created the HDR image with Photomatix Pro. If you ever get a chance to visit this location, please do so. It is worth the time to walk the facility. The attached museums are also great, but expect to spend more then a full day and you’ll still miss items.
