I’ve always enjoyed photographing Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh. Something about this location calls to me and everyone else. Anyway, enjoy these two photos demonstrating a couple different angles.
Clemente Bridge Sidewalk
Brad dragged me out of the house on a recent, very cold morning to take some photos, which turned out great. I didn’t love getting up at 530am, but we had a good time. Big thanks to Brad.
I captured this photo on the Clemente Bridge that morning.
Fort Pitt Bridge
I’ve been absent from my site for some time. The only photos I’ve posted have been from the NFL games I’ve covered this year. I can’t guarantee I’ll be more active, but for now here is a photo from downtown Pittsburgh.
Reykjavik Graffiti
I captured this photo in downtown Reykjavik at around midnight last summer. I took one night and walked around the harbor and downtown area taking as many photos as I could. The place was completely empty.
Great Downtown
It doesn’t matter how many times I go to downtown Pittsburgh; I’m always impressed. I think Pittsburgh has one of the best downtown areas of all cities in the U.S. Do you agree?
I took this from the North Shore a few months ago.
Washington's Street Art
I did a small photo walk today with Joe and Brad in downtown Washington Pennsylvania. I also did a photo walk in this area a few weeks ago with Blair and Lisa. Here is just a small sample of the street art that the City has sponsored to help improve the downtown.
Wonderful Dome
This is the entry to the Pennsylvanian building in downtown Pittsburgh. This building was originally a train and bus station. Today it is a event venue, office building and has apartments inside it.
Let The Sun Shine Through
I took this drone photo during the pandemic, but honestly, I don’t remember when. It seems like the last two years have been a blur. So, the context of dates during that time is just off in my head. Maybe that’s stress from work during this time, maybe it is just old age…. Regardless, it wasn’t taken last week.
This is downtown Pittsburgh right after sunrise.
Mr. Rogers
Short post tonight. Here is the back of the Mr. Rogers statue which faces downtown Pittsburgh…..
Clemente At Dawn
I took this photo last Saturday when I met Brad Truxell downtown for the sunrise. This is the Clemente Bridge.
Heather & Jacob
I dropped MJ off at the airport very early this morning so she could go visit Blair. Afterwards, I went into downtown Pittsburgh to meet Brad for some sunrise photography. After the sunrise, I captured this photo on the Clemente Bridge. Of course, Heather & Jacob made it here before me.
Sunrise Point
Brad, Blair and I met way, way, way too early this morning (my sleep will be messed up for a week) to photograph the sunrise in downtown Pittsburgh. For those of you who don’t know, there is a Pennsylvania state park positioned where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers come together to form the Ohio River in the heart of the city. The park’s name is Point State Park for obvious reasons.
Anyway, at the “point” in the park where the rivers come together is a large water fountain. They turn it on right after sunrise each day. We wanted to capture the sunrise reflection in the water of the fountain. Fortunately, it worked out since I’ve failed to capture this a few times in the past. We finally got a nice sunrise and sky, which made this image powerful.
25 Cents
Here is a rare iPhone photo from me. I take a lot of candid photos with my phone that never get seen by the public. I decided to share this one because….well, I just liked it.
There are a number of these optical devices along Mt. Washington for people to us to see details of downtown Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Spring
With 2020 lost to COVID, I didn’t get out and take as many photos as I normally would, and that has carried over into 2021. I’m just not motivated or energized like I was in the past….. Maybe work has taken a toll on me?? Regardless, I need to get out of this funk. So, I haven’t taken any spring photos this year. Therefore, here is one from 2019 down near the Clemente Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh.
Rays of Sunshine
Arriving at downtown Pittsburgh from this bridge is one of the few great city entrances. You can’t see the city driving towards it due to Mt. Washington and then you enter the tunnel, which is maybe a mile lone (not totally sure on that distance). As soon as you exit the tunnel, you are immediately on Fort Pitt Bridge and the city explodes into view. I’ve never found anything like it in any other city.
Saturday Sunrise
I met up with Brad this morning for a sunrise photo walk. The sky was very interesting this morning in downtown Pittsburgh.
Roof Topping
Tonight, I have a photo from the roofs of downtown Pittsburgh. I can’t say much more than that about it.
G Wagon
On a cold winter day, I have a Mercedes Benz G550 photo for you. I took this photo last August with downtown Pittsburgh in the background.
PNC Park From Above
Here is a photo I took in late 2019 of downtown Pittsburgh. You can see the baseball stadium (PNC Park), Allegheny River, the three sister bridges (one being renovated), the Lawrence Convention Center and most of downtown.
Chapel During the Holidays
I took this photo a year ago in downtown Pittsburgh at First Presbyterian…. They do a nice job decorating the church for the holidays.
