Below is a photo series of the UFO Tower on top of the SNP Bridge in Bratislava Slovakia. This unique UFO structure is an elevated restaurant and observation tower on the south side of the Danube River. I loved this spot and this city…thus I took a ton of drone photos.
Reykjavik Graffiti
I captured this photo in downtown Reykjavik at around midnight last summer. I took one night and walked around the harbor and downtown area taking as many photos as I could. The place was completely empty.
Atlantic Puffins
I love these little guys. I took these photos in Iceland last summer. Great experience.
Regensburg and Danube River
Here is a throwback to our 2019 Europe river cruise. We started in this beautiful town in Germany. I loved the medieval architecture, cathedrals and bridges. It just made for a very photographic spot.
The Shard Reflection
During my London visit, Robert showed me this cool alley to capture some wonderful images of the Shard, which is what they call the tall skyscraper in this photo. I liked this version from the numerous I took in this area. For this photo, I moved the camera right up next to a glass building to get this reflection.
Athens Greece
I don’t remember where in Athens I took this photo, but I do know it was in Athens Greece. It’s probably a couple thousand-year-old historic site that is super famous…. But I still don’t remember the location.
Ferris Wheel of Budapest
This huge Ferris Wheel is in a public park about 5 city blocks from the Danube River (Pest side of the river). We didn’t ride it during our visit, we had another destination we had to get to that day. But I enjoyed snapping a few photos of it.
Pre-War Chernobyl Factory
Continuous depressing news coming out of Ukraine. Not that Russia is making much progress (that’s the good news), but more along the lines of more and more people getting hurt, killed and displaced. So needless.
Here are a few photos from the Jupiter Factory in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Kyiv Architecture
Here are a few more photos I took (pre-war) in Kyiv Ukraine back in 2018.
Ukraine National Sports Stadium
Unique door in a building near Kyiv’s main square
Golden Gate - part of the original medieval city wall
Chernobyl Basketball Courts
I’m shocked and happy that the Ukrainian people (civilians and military) are holding the Russian military back. Surprisingly, the Russian military doesn’t seem very competent, despite their advantage in equipment, size and training.
Here are some photos I took inside to abandoned basketball courts within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Chernobyl
I don’t know what to say about the war in Ukraine. It is so frustrating to know people, historical sites, houses, etc.. are getting injured, damaged or worse because of one person’s greed and evil intent.
These are photos from Chernobyl (pre-war).
Chernobyl Reactor #4 with the containment dome over the nuclear disaster
Chernobyl Reactor #5 which was under construction when #4 melted down

My Thoughts Are With Ukraine
I am very sad for the citizens of Ukraine. The Russian attack is unnecessary, unprovoked, and dangerous to Ukrainians and Russians. Unfortunately, Russian’s leader is just another evil dictator who doesn’t care.
Here are a few photos from my trip to Ukraine a few years ago. I’ll post more from this trip over the next few days.
World War II Memorial park with Kyiv in the background

Church in Kyiv
Crossing The Danube
I loved Budapest and really want to go back. But as we all know, that’s not likely to happen in today’s COVID world. I captured this photo during our European river cruise using my drone.
Jupiter
Did you have a great week? I’m glad we’re going into the weekend, and I can get some things done around the house.
Today’s photo is from the abandoned Jupiter Factory in Pripyat Ukraine, which sits a few miles from Chernobyl and is within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The Russians claimed the factory made cassette recorders, but in reality it made semiconductor components for their military. We spent a couple hours exploring this site during our 2018 Chernobyl trip.
Montenegro Church
This pretty image has been waiting to make an appearance for a number of years. I took this photo many years ago while MJ and I were in the country of Montenegro. I don’t remember the name of the village, but I remember MJ explored a museum about the history of the country while I ran around the town capturing hundreds of photos.
Matthias Church - Budapest
Very interesting side entrance to this amazing church, which looks down upon Budapest. The view from this spot looking down into the city is wonderful.
Regensburg Clock Tower
This college town was the start of our 2019 European river cruise down the Danube River. This is a great little city….
Hospital Lobby
This is the Pripyat Hospital lobby inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. This hospital received and cared for the firefighters who responded to the nuclear reactor disaster when the Chernobyl accident occurred. All of the firefighters died of radiation exposure.
Danube River Cruising
Here is the Gate 1 Travel river cruise boat called Monarch Princess sitting in the Danube River at Regensburg Germany.
Budapest City Street
I honestly couldn’t remember which city this was form unit I zoomed in on the bus. Either I’m getting too old or there have been too many trips. It has to be age because you can never have too many trips.
