I captured this photo in someone’s front yard while we walked around the beautiful Mackinac Island last August. I liked the combination of the flowers and the iron fence.
Saturday Sunrise
I met up with Brad this morning for a sunrise photo walk. The sky was very interesting this morning in downtown Pittsburgh.
Seven Mile Beach Sunset
I know I’ve been absent from my blog and social media lately. No excuses. So, to make it up to you, here is a sunset from tonight. MJ and I watched this baby set at Coccoloba’s on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman. Of course, I captured the sunset with three different cameras (Sony A7riv, DJI Pocket Osmo and my iPhone). Here is the Sony version.
Glory Dusk
Another short blog post for you tonight. Here is a photo I took on the Carnival Glory at dusk. I love the blue colors on the deck and the orange colors in the background just after sunset. This was also taken in Montego Bay Jamaica.

Need A Chair?
This is my 3rd photo in a row featuring “water” as the main element. I didn’t plan to create this trend, but I’ll keep it going tonight.
I took this photo four Mexico trips back (I think....). I love these quiet mornings on the beach before 99.9% of the other guest are awake. I usually have the entire environment to myself and I can have any chair I want!!

Fort Pitt Bridge
I took this photo of sunrise in downtown Pittsburgh a few months ago when I was out with Brad and Blair. I used my DSLR camera to capture this, but I also took a ton of photos with my drone that morning. I still take more photos with my DSLR camera, but increasingly I take more and more photos with the drone. I hope your weekend has been great and that you enjoy what’s left of your Sunday.

Travel Sunrise
I scrolled through numerous photos in my archive tonight looking for something to post. I came across this photo I took while on one of our cruises. Per my normal process, I was up before 99% of the passengers trying to capture the ultimate sunrise photo. I don’t think photo falls into the ultimate photo category, but I like it a bunch.

Beach Pool
This will be my 2nd post from Mexico in a row. I usually mix them up a little. I took this photo with my drone hovering over the bar looking down this extremely long pool towards the beach. We had an okay sunrise that morning…but it was way better then the couple days of rain prior to this morning. We spent many hours at this spot lounging in and out of the pool. Good times at the Grand Palladium!!!

Carnival Sunset
I honestly can’t remember which Carnival Cruise ship this photo is from. That’s just sad if I say so myself. Regardless, I’ve taken this photo, or a version of it, on numerous Carnival cruises in the past. It is an easy composition, love setting and easy to capture. Plus it always makes me happy.

Bonaire Beauty
This little island captured a place in my heart. I just loved it. We stayed at a nice little resort at the edge of the town and right on the beach. Our room looked out over a canal part way between the beach and the scuba dive shop. Blair and I would get a couple of dives in every morning and then hang out with the girls the rest of the day. We hit some great restaurants and had this view every night.

PGH Cityscape
I hope you’re having a great weekend. We got a little snow in our area yesterday. I took this drone photo a couple of weeks ago from downtown Pittsburgh (pre-snow). Look how high the water is in the rivers…. Right up to the top of the river walk. Anymore and they’ll have flooding in downtown Pittsburgh.

Weird
This beauty is from our Motown Urbex trip earlier this year. This was the second time I’d been to this site. I don’t remember this orange chair in the past, but it made for a nice focal point in this photo. I love the graffiti on the back wall as well.

Early Morning
You’d think with tons of photos to choose from, I’d have an easy time selecting a photo to post. Honestly, sometimes I struggle with the selection. I think my struggle comes from doubt about whether any of them are worth sharing. I’m never very confident with their quality or appeal. Unfortunately, I let self-doubt creep into my thoughts. With that in mind, I hope you like tonight’s photo.
I took this photo from the West End Bridge looking back at downtown Pittsburgh very early in the morning. Have a great day.

Garden Of The Gods
In early December, I got the chance to visit Colorado Springs. What a nice city and location. I was impressed!! Right outside my hotel balcony was this amazing view of Garden Of The Gods. I took this photo in the early morning hoping to catch the sun shining off the mountains

PGH Sunrise v2
About a week ago I posted a photo from this same spot that I took the same morning. Today’s post is a wider angle a few minutes later. What do you think of this version?

Morning Sun
The beauty of waking up early for a sunrise is that normally I’m alone. Or mostly alone. The popular beach is abandoned. The resort pool is vacant. The Lido deck on a cruise ship is quiet. You get the point. It doesn’t seem to matter where we travel to, I can count on this phenomenon. Which allows me the opportunity to capture great photos without tourists in the way. And I’ve come to the realization that people around the world, all like to sleep in….

Beach Sunrise
Blair and I got up early during our trip to Mexico on a number of times to capture sunrise photos. Some mornings were more productive then others. I think this photo turned out okay. What do you think? Something about the warm colors that the photo in my opinion.

Simpson Bay Sunset
Today’s blog post if of a sunset from Simpson’s Bay in St. Martin. We had a wonderful time traveling to this island with a few family members. Mother nature treated us to a week full of wonderful sunsets like this one. I took this photo from the beach at our resort. I like the moody feel of this photo and it takes me right back to our time sitting on the beach watching this unfold. Good times, great location.

Simpson Bay Sunset
Carnival Sunset
Sorry that I’ve been absent. As you probably figured out, I was off taking photos. Tonight’s photo is from a recent cruise out of Miami. As we were leaving Miami, this Carnival cruise ship followed us out of the harbor. Lucky for me, the position of the ship, the sunset, and the city of Miami made for a great photo.
I love how simple this photo is. The subject, composition, and color are simple, but so beautiful. Anyway, I hope you like it as well.
Syracuse vs. Pitt
In honor of the NCAA National Championship Men’s Basketball game tonight, I am posting one of my college basketball shots from earlier this season. This is from the Syracuse vs. Pitt game at the Peterson Center in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. Pitt won this game, even though it appeared as if Syracuse was the better team that day.
Both teams made the NCAA Tournament, with much different results. Pitt lost in the first round, while the Orange Men lost in the Semi-Final game to my home state Wolverines.
Neither team had the season ending they wanted, but both had what I would consider successful seasons. So regardless of who you want to win, remember they are all winners and cheer for the Maize and Blue.
