I took this photo last spring before they changed the name to Acrisure Stadium. I’m not sure why I didn’t share the photo until now. Oh well, here you go.
Kyiv Architecture
Here are a few more photos I took (pre-war) in Kyiv Ukraine back in 2018.
Ukraine National Sports Stadium
Unique door in a building near Kyiv’s main square
Golden Gate - part of the original medieval city wall
Heinz Field Postcard
I don’t think I’ve ever posted a photo of the stadium from the outside; despite the fact I’ve probably posted hundreds from inside. If I have, I don’t remember and I’m too lazy to go back and double check.
Regardless, I took this photo last July on a day with wonderful clouds. Frankly, when I look at this photo, my eye goes to the clouds, and I don’t really see the stadium as the area of focus. What about you?
Highmark Stadium
Short video with a few great photos from the Steelers game at Highmark Stadium early in the 2021 NFL Season.
PNC Park at Dusk
Here is another drone photo of downtown Pittsburgh. During games this is a “no fly zone” so getting this slightly before, during and slightly after a game is difficult without special approval. But I think the photo is more interesting when the stadium is empty.
PPG Arena
My Red Wings didn’t make it into the NHL Playoffs, which was disappointing. Locally the Pens fans had their season come to an end this week as well. This statute is outside the Pens’ stadium in downtown Pittsburgh. Honestly, I don’t know which players are represented. I’m sure a Pens fan could tell us.
Steelers at Browns
Here are some photos from today’s game. Steelers against the Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland Ohio.

Paul Brown Stadium
Jake and I had a nice quick trip down to Cincinnati to photograph the Steelers game against the Bengals a couple of weeks ago. I captured this photo the following morning before we traveled back to Pittsburgh. Below are a few others (one from inside the stadium just before kick-off and another drone photo the following morning).
Rough Night For The Steelers
I took a quick trip with Jake Mysliwczyk(down and back in 24 hours) to Cincinnati to photograph the Steelers’ game against the Bengals. That was my first time to Paul Brown Stadium. It was a nice trip and by total chance, we stayed at the same hotel as the Steelers (extra nice touch….thanks MJ).
Side note, Jake photographs the games for Pittsburgh Current. You can check out his work at the following spots:

Good time had by all, except for the Steelers, of course. More photos below……

Running Out Of The Tunnel
I’ll be covering the Steelers road game in Cincinnati tonight for the Observer Reporter (OR) newspaper. The OR has been great to me over the years. I’ve photographed the Steelers from the sidelines for them for nine years. In preparation for Monday Night Football (Steelers vs. Bengals), I’m sharing this footage from when the Bengals were in Pittsburgh earlier this season.
Steelers at Bills
I had a great little road trip to Buffalo last weekend. I drove up Sunday afternoon and arrived in time to photograph the Sunday Night Football game. Afterwards, I crashed at a hotel and then drove back first thing Monday morning. I was up and back in less than 24 hours.
It was a cold, but not freezing night, with some light flurries in the first half of the game. The Steelers didn’t play well, and the Bills took advantage of that to capture the win. If we’re all honest about it, the Bills are a very good, maybe great, team. Here is a small sample of the 5,000+ that I took before, during and after the game.
Scroll down to see more photos from this game.

Rubber Bowl Stairs
I think this site was demolished shortly after my visit. It was a great explore and I’m glad I got to see it before it disappeared. This was the former home football field for the University of Akron.

I love my Detroit Lions, but I can honestly say we’ll never see anything called the “NFL Super Bowl Detroit Lions” in this building or any other. We won’t see any banners hanging from this ceiling more recent then the 1957 Championship banner for many, many years. Probably long after I’m gone from this world. So the question is why does anyone, including me, continue to cheer for this franchise? I don’t have an answer to that question….. They’re just my team… It is, what is it!!

Mayfield
I tried to capture a number of good photos of Baker Mayfield at last week’s game. During the game I didn’t think I was having any success. But as I went through my photos, I found a number of great shots. Here is one of Baker from the first half of the game.

Hard at Work
I received these photos today via email. They were taken by the amazing Frank Hyatt. He captured Jason and I (orange hat) working hard photographing the Steelers vs. Seahawks last weekend.
Hockey Season Starts Soon
There are times when I get behind on my processing and editing photos and videos. Here is a short video from a game last season (Pens vs. Avalanche). Blair and I got these great box seats by the glass that included a suite (Suite 66) under the stands where the Pens players come in and out…. You can’t get much better!!!
Kiev Skyline
During our trip to Kiev Ukraine, we stayed in a hotel overlooking the Ukrainian Soccer stadium. I posted a photo of this perspective last October taken at sunset. Now you’re getting a version from later that evening.

I want my Detroit Lions to win so badly. And I don’t mean just a game, I want a deep run into the Playoffs or dare I say a Super Bowl win. Is that too much to ask for? Lions fans have suffered for far too long. I understand that the Lions troubles are tied directly to ownership and poor management decisions for years…. Poor draft choices, coaching decisions, selection of coaches, poor trades, etc….. but fans like myself shouldn’t have to deal with this ongoing pain. At least I don’t think so. So we need a little football magic to kick in this upcoming off-season and run through March of 2020…..
In the meantime, Lions fans just have to deal with the fact we have a nice stadium and a poorly performing organization. I took this photo last season, when the Steelers traveled to Detroit. I got to the game 5 hours in advance to photograph the stadium.

Olympiyskiy
I’ve been absent from the digital world for the last 10 days, while Blair and I traveled to the Ukraine. We spent some time in Kiev (beginning and end of the trip), Chernobyl, and a few small villages. We spent most of our time within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, so you can imagine the number of future posts I’ll have from Chernobyl. I took this photo from our hotel window at the beginning of the trip in Kiev. This is their Olympic Stadium, used primarily as a football (soccer) venue.
