Szentendrei Door

While we (MJ, Kris, Scott and I) were in Hungary, we stopped by this little artist village for an afternoon.  It had a bunch of very small streets, alleys, and foot paths between buildings that are not in a logical pattern.  Most of the buildings are homes with unique entrances like this one.  I stopped to take so many photos, I lost the rest of our group.  They kept going (I was supposed to catch up) and after 5 minutes I was lost in these little streets.  I thought I knew what direction they went, but I was wrong.  So I wandered around for another 30 minutes before they found me…..  They grabbed an outdoor spot at a café and saw me walking by.  Honestly, I knew I wasn’t in trouble because we had a time and place to meet later for our trip back to Budapest, but I wasn’t sure I’d find them before that.  It all worked out and we had an amazing lunch at this cafe (see some iPhone food photos of the lunch below).

Pitt Wall

I’ve looked online and can’t find anything about this decorative wall on the North Shore of Pittsburgh.  I’ve lived in the area for 9 years and it pre-dates me, but I don’t know the history.  At some point over that time, they gave it a facelift…Otherwise it just been sitting there.

I took this photo a week ago while Michael and Robert were in town.  We walked around downtown Pittsburgh Friday evening taking photos.  I liked how the river and city behind the wall look in this photo.

Detroit Art

I loved this graffiti spot near the Eastern Market in Detroit.  When I was scanning my photos for something to post tonight, I couldn’t believe this one wasn’t already shared with the world.  I took this photo last March during our Motown Urbex weekend.

Zone 6

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday night.

We had a great time exploring this abandoned state prison last weekend.  Even though it’s abandoned, it isn’t in bad shape.  So it doesn’t look like most of the abandoned building photos I share with you.  Regardless, it was fun….honestly how often do you get to explore a prison?  It doesn’t happen often.  I’ve explored Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly, Alcatraz in San Francisco, and Moundsville Penitentiary in West Virginia.  All of those were unique in their own way.

George Washington - Free Gifts (iPhone Wallpaper Pictures)

Tonight I have a FIVE FREE (yes I said 5 Free) gifts for everyone.  I formatted five of my recent photos to be used as wallpaper for Apple iPhones.  All you have to do is download them and put them on your phone.  Click HERE to get the wallpaper pictures.  They may work with other cell phone models, but I can’t guarantee that.  If you try them with a different cell phone model, let me know if they work or not.

NOTE:  In the near future, I will also post versions that work as wallpaper for your Apple iPad.  These will be free to you as well.  Please look for these soon.

George Washington:

I have a patriotic HDR photo for you in today’s post.  This is a picture of the George Washington statue on top of the Washington County Pennsylvania Court House.  This structure was built in 1900 and they just completed a two-year restoration of the interior.  The building is still an active (and only) courthouse for Washington County.

This was a 7-exposure bracket merged into one HDR photo.
