If you ever get a chance to visit the Wynwood Walls area of Miami, don’t miss it. The outside public gallery of graffiti art is amazing. Wall after wall of great artist have contributed their talents to make this a wonderful outdoor exhibit. Good stuff.

Tonight’s blog post is from the lobby of the Carnival Breeze cruise ship. We had a wonderful time on this cruise a while back. What a wonderful ship. All the new Carnival ships are designed with a milder interior design vs. the older ships, which had a louder style. I like both styles, but the new ships are in line with today’s taste.

This is a wonderful Plaza in the heart of Cusco Peru. My dad, MJ and I explored this area and many other parts of the city. I’d highly recommend it if you get a chance. Friendly people, clean, safe, great architecture and history, and cheap. Great combination!!

Dave, Brad, Dan, Blair and I did a little abandonment photo walk earlier this week. Blair posed as a model for me in this shot. Something about this chair in this little room with Blair looking away from the camera, just speaks to me. We had a good time photographing this structure until the police ran us off. The police were very nice about it, but they didn’t like the fact we were exploring this urban ruin.

At times, everyone needs the shallow end. Maybe something isn’t going as planned in your life. That’s when you need the shallow end…. We all do from time to time. Of course, when life is in full swing, then you can risk the deep end. Just don’t spend your entire time in the deep end….remember the shallow end is your friend.

I’ve been to NYC a few times in the past and each time my hotel was about a block from this amazing building. Every time I went, I said that I have to get inside and just ran out of time. So on the last trip, MJ and I took a few hours out of our day to walk around this great facility. Of the dozens, maybe hundreds of people in the building with us, I had to have been the only person who entered just to photograph the architecture. What a great location!!! And it’s free to enter. Good times.

Tonight’s blog post is from the Fulton Street Subway Station in lower Manhattan. I’m not really which Manhattan neighborhood this is located within, since there are so many of them and I haven’t found a good source on where one neighborhood stops and another starts….
This subway station is amazing. The architecture of this structure is great inside and outside. Unfortunately, when I was there, photographing the outside wasn’t possible due to construction vehicles parked right in front of it.

I rarely take photographs of people, except for NFL football games. So tonight’s photo is a rare thing for me. I took this photo (kind of…I’ll explain that in a second) of Dan, Blair and I at the end of our time exploring an abandoned YWCA. When I say I “kind of” took this photo, what I mean is that I had help. I set the camera up my tripod and had it already to go. Then I got the guys into position. My last step was to have our tour guide press my exposure button….. Then of course, I processed the photo. But as I processed the photo, I realized that it was begging to be a black and white photo, which I also don’t produce very often. So you’re getting a double dose of “Something Different” from me today.

When we visited St. Maartin, we stayed at the Simpson Bay Resort and Marina. The resort has a wonderful roof access that allows for a beautiful 180 degree view of the famous Simpson Bay. So I took advantage of this and took a ton of photos of the bay. But to be honest, this photo I took looking straight down at the resort pool was one of my favorites from this location.

Tonight’s post will be short, due to the late hour. I took this photo last fall on a photo walk with a few of the guys. This is an abandoned rye distillery outside of Pittsburgh. I love the framing of the door and windows with the Monongahela River in the background. I also like the contrast of the old decaying building with the beautiful nature behind it.

Back in January, Brad, Dave and I complete a photo walk around CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. What a great college campus. We took a number of photos inside some of their amazing buildings. This is the lobby of their College of Fine Arts. How cool is this place? My opinion…. Super Cool.

Here is another photo from the former YMCA. A local non-profit agency is going to renovate this building in the near future. They’ll be raising money for this project and I hope they reach their goal. Not only will it be great to see this old beauty restored, but the non-profit organization is wonderful as well. So I’m hoping the best for the organization.

Today’s post is a picture of Offensive Tackle Marcus Gilbert (#77). I took this picture of Marcus last season during the home game against the Arizona Cardinals. Marcus is a 6’ 6”, 330 lbs monster on the offensive line for the Steelers.
