Last weekend I went into Washington Pennsylvania to fly the drone. I like to think I’m a good drone pilot. The truth is that I’m probably average, but I can dream. I’m also an average to poor video editor as well…. Regardless of those two poorly performed skills on my part, I thought this turned out pretty good.
Rubber Bowl Stairs
I think this site was demolished shortly after my visit. It was a great explore and I’m glad I got to see it before it disappeared. This was the former home football field for the University of Akron.

Grand Hotel
This extraordinary and historical hotel is located in a very special place for me. This is the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island…. I took this photo last month on our trip to Michigan. This island is another great spot to visit, if you haven’t already.

GW In The Sky
I got out last night attempting to capture the sunset with my drone in downtown Washington PA. After the sun dropped below the horizon, I captured this great image of the George Washington statute on top of the Washington County Courthouse. Love that sky!!

Morning Traffic
Here is a photo I took about a month ago in downtown Pittsburgh. Coming out of the tunnel and crossing this bridge is the best entrance to any city in the world…. Of course, with a worldwide pandemic, the traffic was very light on this morning.

Above Burt Lake
Great view of the cottage we borrowed last month on Burt Lake in northern Michigan. Can you spot the cottage we used? By the way, I love the storm in the distance.

Basilica and William Penn
I captured this long exposure drone photo in downtown Philly in 2019. In the middle is the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Down the street to the right is City Hall with the William Penn statue on the top of it.

Table Mountain
Here is a panorama photo I took from the top of Table Mountain during our trip to South Africa. Some cool things in this photo:
· Far upper right side is the control building. From here you get on a giant lift (think ski lift) that takes you up and down the mountain
· Just to the left of that building in the water is Robben Island. The old prison that held Nelson Mandela for decades is on this island
· The pointy hill in the right side of the photo down near Cape Town is called Signal Hill
· The town down the hill in the middle is part of Cape Town. I think the part is called Camps Bay neighborhood
· All the smoke to the left is from a wildfire that was uncontrolled while we were there. There was a major drought prior to our arrival so wildfires were a problem. This was one of a number of fires in the area at that time.
· Of course, all the water straight ahead is the Atlantic Ocean.
I got extremely lucky on this trip. The day we were scheduled to go up the Mountain wasn’t windy and was a clear day. The days before and after were canceled due to high winds. Great trip…..Beautiful country….

Holz-Brucke
We visited the beautiful town of Frankenmuth Michigan this summer. If you’re not familiar with it, you’re missing out. Not only is this town a great spot designed and modeled after a German village, it has a number of wonderful restaurants. As part of the village, they have a covered bridge called the Holz-Brucke (Wooden Bridge). Unfortunately, while we were there, they were repairing the sidewalk near the bridge so I couldn’t get a good shot of it from the outside.

African Zebra
Here is a photo I took and haven’t shared yet from 2017. MJ and I traveled to South African with some amazing people. We traveled the country which included a number of safaris. We found this little guy on one of those game drives. Great memories!!

Trouble
I took this photo in 2018 at Heinz Field. I loved that season, since I got to see all the NFC North teams play the Steelers. On this play, Big Ben didn’t stand a chance of surviving.

Short post for you tonight. Here is a photo I took on a trip to Sedona a few years ago. This area is just a cool and I’d love to go back…. Someday!!!

Jackson 5
This massive mural is in downtown Gary Indiana. I captured this during my Shutter Rush trip to the Urbex hot spot. We had a great time (laughed a lot, explored some cool locations and burned up memory card space with ton of photos).

Chernobyl's Jupiter Plant
I don’t know what they did in this part of the factory and I’ll probably never know. Regardless, I liked the different levels, contrast, textures and colors.
The Soviets claimed they built cassette recorders and home appliances here, but they secretly produced semiconductors for the Russian military. This location was one of many highlights on our Chernobyl trip.

Storm Cell
I’m not a weather or storm expert by any means. Someone knowledgeable could probably tell you what this type of storm cell is called immediately. Whatever it’s called, I thought it was super cool looking, especially with the sunset in the distance. I took this photo over Burt Lake Michigan.

Gibson's Tree
During our trip to Burt Lake in northern Michigan, I took this photo of Gibson’s tree sitting right next to the lake…. There isn’t much more to say about it.

Great Turtle Brewery
Sorry for the slight absence from my blog and social media. I needed a break and took it.
I took this photo of the Great Turtle Brewery bar on my last trip. This nice brewery sits on Mackinac Island Michigan. I’d suggest you check it out.

Nanuk Case Toss
I’ve been enjoying my Nanuk camera cases. They not only protect your gear from being damaged if the case is bumped or dropped, but they keep your gear dry as well. I wondered about that last part, so I did the following……
School Auditorium
This is from my last Detroit Urbex photography trip. This abandoned school auditorium was beautiful. This trip was great because of the guys who joined me.

I Am Free Now
I took this photo in March (right before COVID blew up our world) on our urban exploration trip to Gary Indiana. As you know by now, that was the last @TeamShutterRush trip which resulted in our 2nd film on Amazon Prime. This specific location was an abandoned classroom.
