Magic Path

This is the path underneath the Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.  The lights change colors randomly, so as you stand there it will be blue, red, purple, etc….  In warm weather, it also has water running down the walls and on each side of the path, which also make for a unique photo op….  Just a cool spot.

PNC Park From Above

Here is a photo I took in late 2019 of downtown Pittsburgh.  You can see the baseball stadium (PNC Park), Allegheny River, the three sister bridges (one being renovated), the Lawrence Convention Center and most of downtown.

Sack

The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns game in Cleveland yesterday was an interesting experience.  There were numerous story lines from the game.  One of them was all the sacks the Steelers inflicted on the Browns’ quarterbacks.   This photo is one from the first half of the game.  Frankly, they all looked like they hurt to me.

You can tell it was a rough day for the Browns by looking at this helmet.

“The Catch”

Well, maybe calling it “The Catch” is taking it a bit far.  This is another photo from last Sunday’s game (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts).  I love everything about this photo.

·      The fact you can tell Tight End #83 Dwayne Allen is going to catch this TD pass

·      How you can feel LB #94 Lawrence Timmons frustration

·      You can feel the action based on numerous elements in the photo including the dirt flying up at their feet.

·      How everyone in the stands is watching closely

Maybe you won’t like it as much as I do.  At the very least, I hope you can appreciate it.

REPOST:  I posted this message and photos below yesterday on Facebook and am reposting it here for you:

At the request of a few friends, I wore an orange hat at the Steelers vs. Colts game so they could try to find me on TV. As you've probably guessed, that is nearly impossible since close to 100 other photographers are forced to wear the same tan NFL vest. I've seen myself on TV watching a recorded game, but that's because I know where I was standing during specific times and plays. Well last night I found a photo on line of Big Ben and Andrew Luck talking after the game and I am in the photo. You'll have to look close and I've added some aids to point you in the right spot (remember the orange hat). Plus I'll post my picture of this same moment.

I found this funny, but I'm not right.

Can you see my orange hat?

Funky Path 2

Last November I posted a picture I took from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.  You can see that picture here: http://brook-ward.com/blog/2013/11/11/funky-path

Tonight I am posting another picture from that location.  I love this spot because of the funky path, waterfalls, lighting, etc….
