It is so sad that I can’t remember exactly which Detroit abandoned factory this is from…but I don’t remember. So, let’s just enjoy the nice blue tint from the blue glass. I need to go back soon and/or do some urbex photography in another spot. It has been way to long.

Below is a collection of video clips and photos from before, during and after the Steelers vs. Rams game. I’ve been trying to capture some video with my iPhone at different times instead of only taking photos with my camera. I’m not a video expert and I don’t claim to be a video editing expert, but this will give you a little idea of what I see from the field.
I haven’t posted a photo from this spot recently. This is from the abandoned prison outside of Pittsburgh. Blair and I were given official access to explore and photograph it. This was one of many long boring (but interesting) hallways inside the facility.

By the way, I met a legend in the Pittsburgh Photography circles tonight. It was nice meeting JP Diroll ( @jpdirollphotography ). You can see his work on this website (http://jpdirollphotography.com) and all his social media channels.
I tried to capture a number of good photos of Baker Mayfield at last week’s game. During the game I didn’t think I was having any success. But as I went through my photos, I found a number of great shots. Here is one of Baker from the first half of the game.

I know, I know…. As a photographer who covered the Pittsburgh Steelers for the local media, I’m not supposed to care about the opposite team. But I often find them more interesting then the Steelers. Maybe because I see the Steelers all the time. Anyway, here are the Cleveland Browns as they run out onto the field prior to last Thursday Night’s game. I captured this with my iPhone while I took photos of the team with my camera.
I honestly don’t remember if this is a male bull or a female African Elephant. I’m 90% sure this was a bull. Regardless, I took this photo during a safari with MJ in Kruger National Park South Africa.

Here is a unique perspective for you. This is the US Steel Building in downtown Pittsburgh. This may be the only photo of this building taken from this perspective ever!!

I love traveling everywhere, but there is something special about Manhattan. I took this photo in August during our last trip to NYC. This is in midtown Manhattan on West 42nd Street. MJ and I were just walking by and I happened to look up….this was the result.

I haven’t had time to process the photos from last night’s game yet. In the meantime, here is one I captured of Jared Goff getting sacked by Mike Hilton. After this play, Goff left the game for a few plays while he got his physical health in order. This isn’t a great sports photo following all the traditional photography rules… meaning you can’t see their faces or even see much of Mike Hilton. But I can’t help but love the photo based on the position of Goff in mid-air.

For your Saturday viewing pleasure, here is a photo from the Clemente Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh. I took this photo a few months ago on a great evening out taking photos with some friends.

I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you. I have a few things going on, but what’s new. Today’s post is a photo I took of these broken-down trucks in Pripyat Ukraine near Chernobyl.

I’m finally getting around to editing footage from our Chernobyl trip. I know, I know, its been just over a year. The important point is that I’m getting it done. So tonight, I have a short video I created with my drone footage and photos along with some Ukrainian folk songs. Enjoy.
Early in yesterday’s game, Minkah Fitzpatrick intercepted this pass and ran it back for a 96-yard touchdown. I captured this photo immediately before he completed the interception. I was in great position to capture this, but not so much as he ran away from me towards the other end of the field to for touchdown.

I don’t know about your world, but I’ve had a long week. So….here is a photo I took in an abandoned Detroit factory without a long blog explanation. Just enjoy this beautiful photo of a sad building.

On this spooky night, I have a photo from the public cemetery in Pontiac Michigan. I took this last year during a photo walk with Rodney Mendoza. Not only is he a lifelong friend, but his is also a great photographer.
I hope you have a great Halloween. Be safe and have fun!!!

Here is a photo I took last Sunday of the Monongahela River (otherwise known as the “Mon River”) near California Pennsylvania. I took a photo from this spot many years ago…maybe 6 years ago. That time I took it from within a restaurant that looked out over this spot. Now, that business is closed, so I captured the image with my drone. That’s about the only way to get this perspective, due to the trees blocking the view, unless you break into the closed restaurant, which I wasn’t going to do. Anyway, I hope you like the pic.

They play this at every Steelers home game usually in the 3rd quarter to get the crowd pumped up. The video clips are changed every game, so the video portion is unique every time. But the result is the same….
I captured this with my iPhone a few games ago. I’m trying to capture some video this year mainly for my own memory purposes. I realize the Steelers game access I’ve had for the last 8 years will end at some point. So, I want to make sure I capture some of the non-live action game moments as well.
I posted another photo of JuJu towards the beginning of October. Here is one from behind as he ran out of the tunnel during the starting line up announcements. I took this a few weeks ago before the Steelers vs. Seahawks game.
