Governor's Visit
I never post anything about work, but we held a special event this week. We had the honor of hosting PA Governor Tom Wolf at our COVID Vaccine clinic this week. Following the tour, there was a press conference where Governor Wolf, PA State Representative Tim O’Neil and I all spoke.
Prior to the event, I awarded the first ever WHS Presidential Achievement coins to 18 WHS Team Members for their outstanding performance throughout the pandemic. Not only did the Governor mention and congratulate each of them by name in his remarks, but he was very gracious with his time. After the press conference, we went over and thanked each of them and posed for photos. It was a great day for the Washington Health System.

Detroit Water Tower

Tomlin and Wilson
I took this photo post game at Heinz Field in 2019. It was nice capturing Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin and Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson chatting with each other. You could tell there was mutual respect between them.

Pittsburgh Spring
With 2020 lost to COVID, I didn’t get out and take as many photos as I normally would, and that has carried over into 2021. I’m just not motivated or energized like I was in the past….. Maybe work has taken a toll on me?? Regardless, I need to get out of this funk. So, I haven’t taken any spring photos this year. Therefore, here is one from 2019 down near the Clemente Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh.
Ready For Football
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the 2021 NFL season. We have a few more months before pre-season yet, but thankfully it’ll be here before we know it. I captured this photo of Ben in Buffalo last season.
Hospital Lobby
This is the Pripyat Hospital lobby inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. This hospital received and cared for the firefighters who responded to the nuclear reactor disaster when the Chernobyl accident occurred. All of the firefighters died of radiation exposure.
Favorite Grand Cayman Pool Spot
MJ and I have used these two loungers more times than I want to admit….. They sit at a wonderful spot on the Kimpton Seafire Resort property.

I honestly couldn’t remember which city this was form unit I zoomed in on the bus. Either I’m getting too old or there have been too many trips. It has to be age because you can never have too many trips.

What more can I say? This is, what it is. Confidante Hotel and Spa in Mid-Beach area of Miami Beach.
Parliament
The Hungarian Parliament building on the Danube River is just wonderful during the day and at night. I could take pictures of it nonstop….
Pripyat Cultural Center Gym
I liked how they painted this basketball floor blue back when it was built in the 1970s. The windows are long gone along with the floor’s finish, but you can still see the paint and lines for the court. At some point, I want to go back to Chernobyl for some additional exploration.
UFO Observation Deck
This space craft shaped observation deck and restaurant sit high above the bridge over the Danube River in Bratislava Slovakia.
Rays of Sunshine
Arriving at downtown Pittsburgh from this bridge is one of the few great city entrances. You can’t see the city driving towards it due to Mt. Washington and then you enter the tunnel, which is maybe a mile lone (not totally sure on that distance). As soon as you exit the tunnel, you are immediately on Fort Pitt Bridge and the city explodes into view. I’ve never found anything like it in any other city.
Downtown Pittsburgh Hyperlapse
Here is a short drone time lapse video (what DJI calls Hyperlapse) of downtown Pittsburgh from the Fort Pitt Bridge back down the Allegheny River. I captured this last Sunday morning before sunrise.
Colony Hotel
Not much I can say about this photo that you can’t see for yourself. This is, of course, a great example of South Beach Art Deco architecture during the pandemic.
